Please help!! I am so stuck and hate everything- Honour is such a strong but pretty name and to me nothing compares to it.
We had Hugo and Roman on our Boys list but just found out shes going to be a girl and have nothing!!
I really like Amorae but had some bad responses.

I prefer the English spelling.

You do know the name isn’t spelt from American/ English. The name has the same root but is spelt Honor, from the Latin.

However, your name your choice but your daughter will be forever correcting people who will default to the traditional spelling.

Honour & Paloma
Honour & Harmony
Honour & Clara

How old is Honour? Has she started to learn/spell/recognise her name? Just wondering if you’d consider spelling it Honor as the name should be rather than the noun/verb?

MerryMarigold · 26/11/2022 09:37

Oakley's big sister is Bea (not Beatrice). I really like Bea and Beatrice.

I also thought the name was spelt without a U, like Honor Blackman

Exactly.
Its a name, not the word “honour”.

BCBird · 26/11/2022 10:29

Fleur- means flower in French

PritiPatelsMaker · 26/11/2022 10:47

If you liked Roman, how about Roma?

YetAnotherSpartacus · 26/11/2022 10:51

Go with Amorea!

How about Ariadne?

AnotherRoadsideAttraction · 26/11/2022 10:54

Honour & Romola

heldinadream · 26/11/2022 10:57

Alsoplayspiccolo · 25/11/2022 20:40

Honour, not Honor??

Yes I was going to say the same thing. The name is usually spelt the Latin way without the U.

I was going to mention the spelling but thought was none of my business but, I did think this, if she’s v young you could consider changing the spelling as it will save her a whole lot of hassle. It’s just the spelling, not the name

@HonoursMummy Here's another idea for you. What about:

Marlow
Marlowe

It means Driftwood, apparently. But it's also an old placename and the surname probably came out of this. It's got the trendy "o" sound at the end that fits with a lot of contemporary style names. It's outside top 100 etc and not too used but getting more popular. It sounds a bit like "Monroe" without it being all about Marilyn potentially and it works well with Honour.

Diverseopinions · 26/11/2022 15:33

I thought Fleur would go well.

Both Fleur and Honour have a slightly aloof feel, not too sweety-girly.

Spanielsarepainless · 26/11/2022 15:57

The normal spelling is Honor. How about Harriet?

This is nice and i like that its out of top 100 but reminds me too much of the red wine. x
