Hi all,

DH and I like all of these names, but which would be your choice?

Halle (like Halle Berry)
Naomi
Tahlia
Zoe

Middle name likely to be Jane (my DM's middle name) or Joy (my DGM's middle name).

Thanks!

Halle but probably expect mispronunciations.

I say Tahlia. I have a daughter called Taliah (same pronunciation, different spelling 😊) and we get compliments on it all the time. I'd use Jane before Joy for this name

Thalia spelled this way, not Tahlia.

Halle / Hallie!

Zoe is my favourite from your choices . Thalia is runner up!

How do you pronounce Halle?

LizzieBet14 · 24/11/2022 23:13

Tahlia Joy

I like Halle best but I would pronounce it Hal-ay. I would choose Hallie if you are after the Hal-ee pronunciation to avoid confusion.

I also like Naomi but agree with PP you may run in to pronunciation issues there too. I prefer Nay-omi but lots of people would say Nigh-omi.

Zoe feels a little dated to me but it is a nice name and she likely won’t be one of 7 with her name at school if that is important to you.

Thalia is OK but I feel like it’s a prettier name written down, less so when you’re actually saying the name out loud. Maybe have a go calling each name out loud and see which one fits you best.

Jane and Joy are both lovely choices for a middle name especially with the family meaning behind them. Congrats and good luck choosing!
