Cannot decide on a name for DD, please help! My husband and I both really like Alice, Imogen and Isabelle but sadly can’t use any of these. Don’t really love any of the other names on our list so struggling to agree on the right one. Other ideas for names that you think we might love are welcome!

Zara
Vivienne
Juliette
Eliza
Lauren
Poppy
Holly
Lucia
Harriet
Emilia

I like Vivienne and Poppy from your list.

Fivebeanchilli · 14/11/2022 22:57

Zara - when I see it written down I just think of the shop but I know a few Zaras and I don't ever think of it when I see them. They are all amazing people so I do associate the name with cool strong women.
Vivienne - it's ok. I prefer the spelling Vivien.
Juliette - I love Juliet but Juliette is too flowery for me
Eliza - lovely and I think this is most like Alice and Imogen etc
Lauren - really don't like this. Very 90s
Poppy - nice
Holly - dull
Lucia - I like it but the issues with pronunciation would drive me mad
Harriet - gorgeous
Emilia - gorgeous

I would go for Harriet or Emilia but Eliza, Juliet, Zara and Poppy are all nice too.

fairycupcakes · 14/11/2022 22:57

I love Zara, Vivienne & Juliette!! Beautiful names @Ani57

I also love Poppy because it’s my DN2s name and she is a divine little girl. Sparky and fun just like I think the name suggests :)

Gingersnappy · 15/11/2022 03:34

From your list, I like Vivienne
What about Isadora?

Theresomethingaboutdairy · 15/11/2022 05:03

From your list I would say Eliza or Harriet but I think that Grace or Elsie could suit your criteria.

Smallonesaremorejuicy · 15/11/2022 05:05

Vivienne is beautiful. Definitely not Lauren very dated but not in a good way .

Chomolungma · 15/11/2022 05:08

I’d stay away from all that are in top 100, especially top 50, unless you want your daughter to always be called Poppy G. or Poppy FullLastName

you can check here

i have a 4 year old DD and she has a Poppy, Harriet, Eva, Chloe, etc in her class

Thanks all, interesting to hear everyone’s views. Think Lauren and Holly are definitely off the list! Also agree with most people that I prefer the spelling Juliet now that I’ve seen it written a number of times. I love Lucia but only with the pronunciation Loo-See-ah so I think the various different pronunciations will drive me mad so should probably strike that off too!

Love Matilda, Beatrice, Nell and Elowen of the suggestions above but my husband is not keen on them (Yet!)
