Constance
Mercy
Faith
Hope
Joy

If you love any not on this list then feel free to say them too! I am really into virtue names recently, I seem to love the Puritan vibe! Anyone else? 😄

Joy. Do like Verity but not with our surname.

CryCeratops · 14/11/2022 14:28

Hope

PauliString · 14/11/2022 14:28

I might use Ruth, Felicity or Verity.

cheapskatemum · 14/11/2022 14:31

Faith & Hope are my favourite, I also like Grace.

HerReputationMadeItDifficultToProceed · 14/11/2022 14:33

Constance. Without a doubt.

Differentaround · 14/11/2022 14:35

I love Constance and it can be shortened to Connie which is lovely as well

LulooLemon · 14/11/2022 14:37

Faith

Onedayatatime22 · 14/11/2022 14:40

Under his eye - why not go the whole hog and name her Of - DH?

Spookypig · 14/11/2022 14:41

Ugh I love them all so much! I adore Honor and Prudence as well… Prue is soooo cute 😍 I think Mercy is secretly my favourite but everyone else in the world seems to hate it 😩

I like Mercy too!!

Dontaskdontget · 14/11/2022 14:49

Hope or Grace. But prefer Verity.

Faith reminds me too much of Faith the vampire slayer but that may just be me.

nomoreflyingducks · 14/11/2022 14:51

Charity
Grace
And I once met a Liberty (shortened to Libby) who was awesome.

NoHeavenNoMore · 14/11/2022 14:44

I like Mercy too!!

Do you! Finally, someone else! I’m glad to hear from you, I thought I was the only one! It’s just such a beautiful sound to my ear and I think the meaning is nice, but everyone seems to hate it.

Mercy.

londonmummy1966 · 14/11/2022 14:52

I quite like Amity, Clemency and Trinity. The first two could be shortened to Ami and Clemmie for nicknames. I'm not a fan of COnstance/Connie but one of DDs friends is Constanza which is a lovely name and she goes by Stanz/Stanza

RuthW · 14/11/2022 14:56

Love them all. Probably Constance. Mercy is my least fave.

HelloTreacle9 · 14/11/2022 14:56

I like Hope (what nicknames/shortenings are there though?), and Constance shortened to Connie.

On a separate but related note re nominative determinism, I was born on a Tuesday (Tuesday's child is full of Grace etc...) but was a rather uncoordinated child, shall we say, and my delightful mother took great amusement in telling me and everyone else that it was SO funny that I was born on a Tuesday and yet SO CLUMSY!

SpikeGilesSandwich · 14/11/2022 14:57

Verity is my favourite virtue name.

I do know a Temperance, and I've never quite got used to it, it's a bit clunky.

Mercy just reminds me of playground games where you hurt each other and see how long before one shouts Mercy! Confused (why on Earth did we even play that?!)

AllyCatTown · 14/11/2022 14:57

I like Constance nn Connie.
I like Verity too.
Grace is nice but I think if she’s not graceful people are more likely to point it out.

I might have liked Hope but I knew one and she puts me off. Also people called her Hopeless or said her name was ironic. So again that put me off virtue names.

AceofPentacles · 14/11/2022 14:58

Mercy short for Mercedes

Allmarbleslost · 14/11/2022 14:58

I love Faith but could never use it because round these parts she'd be faif

EsmeShelby · 14/11/2022 14:58

Patience

TheBirdintheCave · 14/11/2022 14:58

Constance or Verity for me.

Suedomin · 14/11/2022 15:01

I like Verity. It sounds nice and isn't as obvious as the others. I also quote like

Hope as it sounds optimistic. I dislike Joy and Mercy I don't like the sound of them but I think it puts too much pressure on the child,l to act a certain way
