Thoughts on Adelina Raine?

Adelina would be first name, Raine (pronounced Rain) would be the middle name. Last name is Martinez. Thoughts?

Love it

Softplayhooray · 08/11/2022 19:18

To me it sounds like chemical fallout, sorry! You have a lovely last name.

Schmeeeee · 08/11/2022 19:25

Sorry OP. I think it's terrible and when I glance at it I just see Adrenaline Confused

MollieMarie · 08/11/2022 19:28

Presumably it won't be hyphenated so it wont be Adelina-Raine?

allypike · 08/11/2022 19:29

@MollieMarie No it will not be 😊 Raine will strictly be the middle name

Adel-eye-na or Adel-ee-na?

Either way the two together sound a bit pretentious.

allypike · 08/11/2022 19:35

@KnickerlessParsons it would be Adel-ee-na

It’s a proper ‘trying too hard and badly failing’ name🙄

TabithaTittlemouse · 08/11/2022 19:38

I prefer Adeline and I’m not keen on Raine.

allypike · 08/11/2022 19:41

@kitcat15 your comment seems a bit rude given I was just asking for thoughts, but what makes you say so?

Snugglemonkey · 08/11/2022 19:44

I think it is lovely op.

Spanielsarepainless · 08/11/2022 19:50

Too many a,e,i,n and r.

fruitbrewhaha · 08/11/2022 20:12

I know a Reine, but not Raine. Not a fan of Adelina tbh. Sounds a bit clunky somehow

Underhisi · 09/11/2022 07:19

I think a longer name would better in the middle so I wouldn't use Raine unless it was a family name. Eg Frances, Sophie.

Chomolungma · 09/11/2022 07:20

I really like it.

Chomolungma · 09/11/2022 07:22

I disagree with needing a long name in the middle. You have a lot of syllables in the first and last names - middle name should be short.

Theydoyaknow · 09/11/2022 07:24

I think its a bit pretentious to be honest.

MarigoldMoonStone · 09/11/2022 07:26

I like Raine, Adelina not so much x

RambamThankyouMam · 09/11/2022 07:38

This is clearly the new Ria Alannah King.

MrsMop1964 · 09/11/2022 07:39

Raine puts me in mind of Raine Spencer who was referred to as 'Acid Raine'. Adelina makes me think of barbershop quartets singing 'Sweet Adeline;
However Adelina Ramirez (assuming the midde name won't be spoken when adressing the child seems fine. It could get shortened to Lina (which would also work for me.)

FayCarew · 09/11/2022 08:56

i don't like Adelina. I don't like Adele and the ina makes the name too long.
Raine is a bit too much like rain, but it's not too bad.
Surname is nice

Harebrain · 09/11/2022 09:00

I’ve only ever met one Adelina and she was lovely, so I say “go for it”. 😄

Billslills · 09/11/2022 12:13

I love it! Adelina Martinez sounds great.

Luredbyapomegranate · 09/11/2022 20:59

It makes me think of one of those slightly evil looking china baby dolls. Sorry OP. Adelaide, Adeline and Adela are all nice though

I don’t like Raine and think it’s naff.. it’s a bit like calling your daughter Queenie

@kitcat15 your comment seems a bit rude given I was just asking for thoughts, but what makes you say so?

She’s giving you her thoughts liked you asked for..

I guess the PP means that Adelina is an unusual and slightly over-frilled form of the name, and Raine is a kooky full stop.
