Down to two girl's names

DD2 is due in a few weeks. We are down to 2 names. DD1 is called Anoushka.

So, Lyra or Holly?

(DH and I are both fans of His Dark Materials btw)

Lyra. Anoushka is a different name and Holly is quite basic, they don't belong together imo.

I also agree that Lyra still doesn't really meet Anoushka.

Lyra, Saskia, Seraphina, Estella, Anastasia,

Lyra can definitely match up to Anoushka! I actually think it's nicer. Holly is bland and very 90s

I agree with everyone who said Seraphina. It sounds great with Anoushka.

Lyra is the new Luna, IMO. Seems unusual but there'll be loads in a few years!

Anoushka is a great name. I would choose Lyra

Lyra. Absolutely gorgeous.

To me Lyra is way better with Anouska than Holly. Holly is a sweet name but a bit dated to me (I had a dog called Holly in the late 80s and most of the girls I know with the name were 80s90s born). Lyra sounds more dramatic and strong to me. Having said that, if you love Holly everyone will be happy and she'll own her name.

Lyra is lovely, but Anoushka and Xanthe would be fabulous.

Oh yes, lots. I really appreciate all the feedback.

I fully agree that Lyra is better with Anoushka as it has more punch than Holly. I was already swinging more towards Lyra and now I am more convinced. I think it does stand up to Anoushka.

We love HDM and I so badly want to love Seraphina but I just don't. Just personal preference I guess.

I also prefer Holly (would probably spell it Hollie though) but agree Lyra goes better with Anoushka.

Lyra. Definitely. It goes much better with Anoushka and it's just a bit more special than Holly.

Lyra. Holly and Anoushka sound like step sisters (as in named by different parents).
But I’m not convinced that Lyra is that great with it either.
I’d go Saskia or Sorcha
