No, it’s the perfect vintage to come around again

Peachesndreams · 29/10/2022 12:01

I don't think so! I have a little Francis and know another one too.

Dassams · 29/10/2022 12:02

A person is only a baby for a tiny amount of their lives! So choose a name that suits a young and old man!

Hermenonville · 29/10/2022 12:02

Nope it's beautiful.

CaptainMyCaptain · 29/10/2022 12:02

Everyone called Francis was a baby once. Its a lovely name.

RambamThankyouMam · 29/10/2022 12:29

It's a dreadful name for any age.

FayCarew · 29/10/2022 12:49

It's fine. I like it.

caitlinrose · 29/10/2022 12:51

It's fine.

My main issue with it is that when you say it out loud it sounds just like Frances and upon hearing the name I'd always assume a girl because I know several women named Frances but only one man who was always Frank. I also personally dislike Frank and Frankie.

Twizbe · 29/10/2022 13:01

The female version is my middle name. I was a baby once.

It's a good name

dandelionthistle · 29/10/2022 13:07

I think it works! I've known a few little ones with names which were definitely not "babyish" but almost immediately they just become their names if that makes sense, and you no longer think "Francis, does that work for a baby?", you just know that baby as Francis.

Like a pp I would first assume the child was a female Frances, but not be hugely shocked to be corrected.

waitingwaitingwaiting2 · 29/10/2022 13:23

I know a female Frances, nickname Frankie, I think its cute.

sopeas · 29/10/2022 14:06

I think it’s really lovely! Then he could have nn Frankie or Frank as he grows up. I think it’s really classy :)

Dalekjastninerels · 29/10/2022 14:08

I like it and every adult Francis was a baby once.

Luredbyapomegranate · 29/10/2022 18:18

No it’s lovely. Becoming quite popular

Snugglemonkey · 29/10/2022 18:22

I think they will get called Frankie, which is really cute.

timoteigirl · 29/10/2022 18:33

Nope. Love it.

Tinytortilla · 29/10/2022 18:35

I currently have a 14 month old Francis snuggly on my lap, everyone has said lovely things about it (to my face anyway!)

He’s Frank or Frankie to some, which I’m totally fine with, but always Francis to me

mamaduckbone · 30/10/2022 08:07

Frankie is a lovely nickname for a baby Francis, if you wanted. I like it.

RedToothBrush · 30/10/2022 15:22

It's spot on trend.
