Pretty middle name for Dottie?

I don’t think the middle name matters so much as it’ll always sound like the first name is a “crazy” descriptor of the middle name when said out loud. “It’s Dottie sue from down the road” etc.

I’m not a huge fan of abbreviated first names being the official name though, so would go for Dorothy [middle name] and use Dottie as a nn/used name if I was going down this path.

Dottie is very cute for a baby. But please remember you are naming an adult too. Would you honestly want to introduce yourself to people as Dottie??

I’d suggest that the OP does exactly that - just for a day or so, tries introducing herself to strangers with ‘I’m Dottie’ and seeing what reaction she gets.

My Aunt dottie is dead now but I loved her name, she would have been in her 90s now, its not an unusual adult name

Dottie is a nickname surely? If not I'd go for something like Dottie Freya so she has a strong grown up middle name if she's not a fan of 'very cutesy' Dottie.

Rose/Grace/May are boring filler middle names. Every girl has them.

The op wasn’t asking if we liked it or not - she is asking for middle name suggestions.

Personally, I would go for Dorothea or Dorothy with Dottie as a nickname, but appreciate Dottie is a name in its own right. Perhaps something longer as a middle name would be better like:
Dottie Beatrice
Dottie Madeleine
Dottie Rosalind
Dottie Lorraine
Dottie Francesca

I love Dottie as a nick name for Dorothy Dorothea or even Dakota, the middle name is less important. Dotty is a slight insult so not appropriate as an official name for an adult imho. Dorothy Jean Dorothea Louise or Dakota Barbara...aka Dottie Barbie 😉
