I don’t think Spanish (Christian country) names are Muslim names are they? Unless you go for something like Boabdil or another Al-Andaluz related name.

there are lots of names that work well in Spain without being Spanish, as in they are easily pronounceable to Spaniards. I live in Spain and the muslim boys/men I know are called: Malik, Mohamed, Zaid and Ali.

Xavier could have Arabic origins but the basques claim it as a name of basque origin (from Exteberria in basque) so who knows!

Look at Old Testament prophet names and their equivalent muslim names.

Xavier is definitely not Muslim. It's a Latinised Basque surname that's given in honour of a Catholic saint (Saint Francis Xavier).

I don't think are many Spanish names that are also Arabic/Muslim. Traditional Spanish names are almost always connected with Catholicism.

Omar is the only one that comes to mind. Otherwise as a PP says you could use one of the religious names that are shared between Islam and Christianity - Moises (Musa/Moses), Elias (Elijah/Ilyas), Adan (Adam/Aadom).

Do you mean a name connected to Islam but that would work well in Spain? Because as pps have said most traditional Spanish names just won’t be Muslim. It would be like saying ‘looking for a traditional South Korean Christian name.’

I love Ayaan and think that could work in Spain. Also Imran, Hakim, Tariq all are nice.

Your best choice would be biblical names, but I think most people might connect them with being traditional Jewish names rather than Muslim.

The ones I was thinking of were Adam, Ilyas, Yusuf or Isaac, but Adam is Adan in Spanish, and Isaac is Isaq (spelling may vary) in arabic. Ilyas is Elias (El-ee-as) and Yusuf is Jose.
Sulamein (Salomon) is nice.

You could opt for a name that you both like, and that works in both languages, that isn't religious. The baby should have the mother's surname. Use the father's surname, if different, as a middle name.
