So I've got my favourite baby names for a little boy
I like names which are slightly different but not too out there wondered if people could help me narrow them down, which do you like the best ? Please vote
I appreciate they will be not everyone's cup of thats but that's OK
In no particular order

Cassius
Cruz
Rocco
Cyrus
River
Ralphie

Just realised I guess I'm liking the Cs and Rs 😁

I only like Cassius from those

But I prefer Cassian (love that name!)

KangarooKenny · 24/10/2022 07:58

I would go with Ralph out of that list, not Ralphie. It might be cute on a kid, but not an adult.

SallyWD · 24/10/2022 07:58

Cassius

Keroppi · 24/10/2022 07:59

Cassius and River definitely my favourites! Hate Rocco.

NashvilleQueen · 24/10/2022 08:00

I think for me it's that they're all 'famous' names. Or ones that celebrities have chosen for their children. I sort of only know one of each and they're all famous in some way or another.

Unicornspirit · 24/10/2022 08:01

Cassius

NashvilleQueen · 24/10/2022 08:01

Apologies I don't think I know a Ralphie. But it feels like a nickname rather than a name in its own right.

SomethingToldTheWildGeese · 24/10/2022 08:03

Ralph 🥰

sopeas · 24/10/2022 08:05

From your list I’d go Ralph and nn to Ralphie when he’s a baby/child. Whilst Ralphie is cute when it’s on a young child it I do not think it is on a grown man.

KnickerlessParsons · 24/10/2022 08:06

Non of them. Sorry

What letter does their surname start with and how many syllables? One of your choices may sound better than another.

In the meantime my favourite is Ralphie but I would start with Ralph. There's a good chance it will naturally get lengthened to Ralphie as a youngster.

Not so keen on the other as they are very much identifiable as celebrity/children's names.

tunthebloodyalarmoff · 24/10/2022 08:10

I have a ralphie in my class really sweet boy
How about Cody. Not keen on any of the others

Livingbestlife · 24/10/2022 08:13

Cassius gets my vote
River maybe as a middle name?
Cassius River 😀
Second love Ralphie
Good luck x

Bramblejoos · 24/10/2022 08:14

James?

Mymoneydontjigglejiggle · 24/10/2022 08:17

I like Cassius best. I also like River.

Livingbestlife · 24/10/2022 08:49

Going with the celebrity vibe / feel what about
Cassius Bear 🐻
Love it x

DuchessOfSausage · 24/10/2022 08:52

They're not my cup of tea, but Cassius is ok.

Cassius - ok
Cruz - too 'Beckham' and it's a girl's name
Rocco - maybe for a bruiser of a dog
Cyrus - not sure, but a bit too Miley/Billy Ray
River - wet
Ralphie - seriously?

Littleelffriend · 24/10/2022 08:53

None

Icantthinkwhat · 24/10/2022 08:55

No. They are almost all faddy.

Above all else. Please do not give a child a 'baby' name. If you choose Ralphie please name him Ralph . When he gets to 14 he will not want to be Ralphie on his passport/official docs.

Chickenvoicesinmyhead · 24/10/2022 09:00

Cassius Clay is Muhammad Ali, so strength connotations
Cruz Beckham is a lad. Not heard of Cruz as a girl, only Penelope Cruz
Rocco Ritchie - Guy Ritchie & Madonna son
Cyprus- Miley, Billy Ray
River Phoenix

Left with Ralphie which is my favourite out of the list

Begoniasforever · 24/10/2022 09:03

The name is Ralph. If you wish to call him ralphie as a nickname fine but don’t lumber him with it for life.

Ladyoftheprom · 24/10/2022 09:10

Ralph is the name of the penis in a Judy Blume book "forever" 😂

River

DuchessOfSausage · 24/10/2022 09:20

@Chickenvoicesinmyhead , there was a bit of fuss about D & VB using it for their son, because it was seen as a girl's name in Catholic countries.
