It's such a wet name !

It really isn't.

midsomermurderess · 16/10/2022 15:47

What is wet about it? I think I’d just go for Frank if that’s the name he’ll go by from the off. I know a Tony who is just that, not formally Anthony.

It really isn't.

It is to me.

FennelAndOnions · 16/10/2022 16:41

It is to me too.

Next someone will be saying it’s ‘timeless’ and a ‘classic’. Which is the automatic reply to anyone when they say they don’t like a name. 🙄

I really like Francis. To me, Frank is a bit of an old man name.

Thrownunderabus · 16/10/2022 17:03

Frank.

All the men I know of who are called Francis are all known as Frank, so they clearly weren’t fans of Francis.

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 16/10/2022 17:44

Francis for me. Frank is a bit harsh.

Singleandproud · 16/10/2022 17:53

I prefer Frank and Frankie for day to day whilst small.

It's interesting, I've worked in education for the best of a decade and never taught a Frank, although have taught several children named Frankie and a Francisco that goes by Fran day to day.

I wonder if John, Paul and Simon will be making a come back soon - a bit of a 60s revival after all the Alfie and Archies.

Mouthfulofquiz · 16/10/2022 18:11

‘Wet’ name 😂
alrighty then.

UsernameIsHarderThanBabyName · 16/10/2022 18:24

Boudica66 · 16/10/2022 18:26

PrioritiseCalm · 16/10/2022 18:38

Luredbyapomegranate · 16/10/2022 23:26

Francis nn Frank 💯

Yennefer19 · 17/10/2022 13:21

My grandad is a Francis, goes by Frank, whenever he has appointments etc, the person he’s seeing always expects him to be a woman, he gets this a lot, don’t know why, I know it’s a unisex name but I always thought the feminine version is with an e. Maybe something to think about.

I thought it was because they liked the name and it didn't particularly date-stamp them.

weekendninja · 17/10/2022 14:54

I really like Francis and to be shortened to Frank.

Frank sounds like a comedy name/nickname to me. I just couldn't imagine a baby/toddler/adolescent called Frank for real.

Medoca · 17/10/2022 15:09

I didn’t even know Frank could be used a nickname for Francis!! My uncle is called Frank, just that.

nelliebear8 · 18/10/2022 07:02

Just Frank, so cute!
