New one on me - assume it is female? Not to my taste..

Trez1510 · 13/10/2022 19:33

Chavtastic.

Sorry, but you did ask.

Starla and the Jewel Riders. 80s or 90s cartoon for kids. I remember a lot of bright Barbie pink.

Yes… it’s like Dreama or something. No.

Wibbly1008 · 13/10/2022 19:40

I don’t like it. It sounds like a breed of wild bird.

Potatomashed · 13/10/2022 19:40

It’s quite sweet, I don’t think it’s chavvy but maybe a bit alternative

EstellaRijnveld · 13/10/2022 19:41

Poor kid, give her a proper name so she doesn't get mercilessly bullied at school.
It's a made up name, it's not even real. If you want something astronomical try:
Stella, Estelle/a or Tara.

Why don't you rename yourself Starla & see how people react towards you for a week.

Yup. This

idonotmind · 13/10/2022 19:41

Bit Virginia Andrews

Enko · 13/10/2022 19:41

I like it. Makes me think of stars.

All names are made up 🤷🏻‍♀️

I actually quite like it, it’s pretty. It’s maybe hippyish in my mind. Like Juno, Luna or River. I’ve come across some very unusual names which have sounded a little strange initially, you soon get used to them though.
So if you like it, use it.

Montague22 · 13/10/2022 19:45

I also know a Harla which is slightly less unusual but not as pretty.

Trees6 · 13/10/2022 19:46

It’s one of those names that will be misspelt and misheard regularly I think. It’s not bad though.

QuiltedHippo · 13/10/2022 19:47

14 baby starlas born last year so that makes it a name in my eyes. It's not my style but its pretty. Might get people thinking it's Carla but that doesn't really matter

Newusernameaug · 13/10/2022 19:47

Not heard it before, if I met a little Starla I’d like it!

WeThreeKingsofOrientAre · 13/10/2022 19:48

When I read it I feel like there’s a few letters missing at the end?

AutumnScream · 13/10/2022 19:48

Smashing pumpkins. I love it

Vecnussy · 13/10/2022 19:49

I like it. It's pretty and has a hippyish vibe to me. MN seems to hate this name though. In real life, people won't be as rude about it as they are on here so if you like it use it!

snowspider · 13/10/2022 19:49

I think Stella is nicer, but it's OK. It has reminded me that I was at school with someone called Dawn Stahl which has always stuck in my mind as I thought it was magical at the time. (nearly sixty years ago)

WillPowerLite · 13/10/2022 19:50

Sounds 70s/80s to me, in a good-retro way. I like it. I picture her going to roller discos and wearing cord flares. Go for it.

CaptainMyCaptain · 13/10/2022 19:51

No.

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 13/10/2022 19:54

Naff. Was going to say it sounds like a cartoon character but judging from a post above it actually was?

Dynamix · 13/10/2022 20:07

I love it and also know an absolutely lovely girl with the name.

CrapBag39 · 13/10/2022 20:08

Reminds me of Starla from Regular Show, sorry 😬
