Hi,

I am currently pregnant with my 2nd child and we know it's a baby girl Smile
We're stuck between two names so any opinions would be great! We already have a Harry and we're stuck between Evie and Florence, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Both nice. I prefer Florence but don't like Flora or Flo. And if I was going to use Evie I'd want to have Evangeline or Evelyn on the birth certificate. I'd probably go with Florence and try insisting on the full name.

KylieCharlene · 03/10/2022 20:58

Harry and Evie are a bit of a mouthful said in the same sentence and there's something quite similar about them.
I prefer Florence and think it 'goes' better with Harry.
Eve would be OK.

I think we've started to lean more towards Florence too. If we were to nickname her then it would be 'Florrie' as I agree, can't stand Flo or Flora!

Florence!

DuchessOfSausage · 04/10/2022 09:16

Florence. Evie and similar names (Eve, Eva, Evelyn, Ava, Edie, Ivy)have been very popular for ages.
I don't like Evelyn or Evangeline, but I do like Eve.

Crunchymum · 04/10/2022 16:20

Florrie is a lovely shortening of Florence (which is a lovely name!)

Zizou04 · 04/10/2022 16:26

I prefer Evie.

I do know a girl who has daughters called Florence and Tuppence

Blahburst · 04/10/2022 16:28

Evie is really cute but also classy for a grown woman. I don’t like Florence, sorry.

vulpix123 · 04/10/2022 16:29

I'd go with Evie but i'd have to spell it Eevee because I'm a pokemon fan 😀

I prefer Evie.

Actually called tuppence? I know a tuppence, real name is Penelope, so it's a play on Penny.

I disagree that Evie is classy (sorry). I think it's trendy and twee. Eva would be classy, IMO, or Eve, but not Evie as a given name.

Florence is so beautiful and much classier.

DuchessOfSausage · 04/10/2022 19:14

Eve is classy, Evie is nice but a bit twee, Eva isn't classy (Eva Braun)

PrimroseWharf · 04/10/2022 21:26

I prefer Florence. It goes nicely with Harry and Florrie is a lovely nickname. Evie is a bit downmarket compared to Florence. Prefer Eva or Eve if you want Evie but Florence is a much better choice.

GlassDeli · 04/10/2022 22:01

Both are nice but I think we've had peak Evie, Ava, Eva, Eve etc. very recently. Florence is lovely.

Notcreative · 13/01/2023 20:57

I like retro names- Hannah, Helen and Polly. My DF had an aunt Polly who sounded like an amazing woman! But I am quite old...

HoppingAndHoping · 13/01/2023 21:26

Florence is nice!

(I quite like Eve and Eva but definitely prefer Florence.)

Mumofgirls2017 · 13/01/2023 22:46

Florence 100%

DashingWhiteSergeant · 13/01/2023 23:36

Florence (Florine) is good, but from the choices mentioned in this thread I adore Penelope and all it’s short forms.

DashingWhiteSergeant · 13/01/2023 23:37

*Florrie not Florine
