My SIL has called her 2nd son Titan. So that is Zeus and Titan, I’m feeling really sorry for the kids. Am I overreacting?

I hope Titan's second name is Nick.

Other than that, cool names.

PinotPony · 02/10/2022 22:21

We have a Zeus on our street. Just shortened to Zee. Suits him perfectly.

It’s very possible someone she knows will see it so I think taking it down might be a good idea.

Have you really got nothing better to do than bitch about your SIL? If so I think you have bigger problems than Zeus and Titan.

So many people come on here to talk about names. This is hardly me going out of my way; I simply want to see what others are thinking while I watch Netflix and eat chocolate.

Just remember to shout across the aisle in Waitrose.

"Zeus, be a darling and pick up an epoisses cheese"

NotRainingToday · 02/10/2022 22:25

Titan will probably get called 'Tit' at school

EdgeOfACoin · 02/10/2022 22:27

I met a little Jupiter in the playground the other day.

These sorts of names are on the rise, although they aren't to my taste. I expect Zeus and Titan won't seem quite so 'out there' in a few years.

Where about do you live? If you don’t mind me asking. Region will do.

I know two people who have akita dogs called Zeus so naturally associate it with those types of dogs. Terrible human names tho

Incredible hubris. The only god/goddess name I can think of, off the top of my head, that's entered common use is Diana.

A friend has recently named her daughter Diana. I get good vibes from the name. I think of the princess and do remember her and lovely, kind and chic.

Not sure about Zeus. Been playing Hades recently on Switch and love mythology, so they don't sound too unusual to me right now! Quite like Artemis, Athena, Ariadne/Arianna, Nyx, Megaera, Tisiphone. Think Artemis is my favourite 😍

rumbypumby · 02/10/2022 22:44

Dogs names.

XPD · 02/10/2022 22:47

Nope, I know a Titus and Galahad. Both rock their names ( Both in their 50's).

Honeywaffles1 · 02/10/2022 22:06

I didn’t even think of this 😂😂😂😂 or if Zeus ends up a 5’3 little scrawny man working in admin.

You lost me at this post. What a horrible person you are. Luckily we’re not all like you

AndTwoFilmsByFrancoisTruffaut · 02/10/2022 22:49

Dreadful, dreadful names Confused

I like Athena. Sounds elegant but powerful.

I love those names!!

Some people call their kids Jesus or Mohammad.
So I couldn’t get worked up over a name like Zeus.

wellhelloitsme · 02/10/2022 23:06

Is your DB not their parent too? Why do you consider this 'her' decision rather than a joint one?

Honeywaffles1 · 02/10/2022 23:32

She pushed for these names as it’s her firm belief that the boys names had to be powerful to portray the right image in order to succeed in life.

As a business Titan I guess and the most powerful of all, Zeus.

Its her belief that we become our names you see.

How many people do you think have two sons called Titan and Zeus?

Because if anyone reading this thread knows her, they'll most likely tell her about it.

Don't you think that posting about it is a pretty shitty move even if you don't like her (which you clearly don't) considering it'll cause a fall out so a headache for your brother / damage your relationship with him?

Yeah, maybe in real life it would but this is Fantasyland.

canyoudtep · 02/10/2022 23:57

I have an Athena 🤷‍♀️

Yeah fair dos!

NCFT0922 · 03/10/2022 00:14

Jesus I think I know who your SIL is. Either that or there are 2 brothers with the same names.

This is a really nasty post!!!

MrsTerryPratchett · 03/10/2022 00:19

Greatest comment ever from a mum friend of mine when I asked why 'Zeus' for her little boy. She said, "well I asked my friend Thor and he said to go for it".

Kids can style it out as long as it's not a mean name or a name of an evil person or something stupid like Elon Musk's poor kid.
