Okay so we finally agree on a short list (until the next name we like comes along! 😳)
Middle name for family reasons will be probably be Elise
Xanthe
Clemency (after a relative and we quite like it but don’t like Clementine)
Fleur
Lowenna
Elowen
Kerenza
Merryn
Robyn

I quite like names that are not too girly sounding but not harshly masculine if that makes sense

You can't have Fleur Elise!! 😂

You can't have Fleur Elise!! 😂

Exactly what I was going to say!

FivePotatoesHigh · 29/09/2022 16:23

Robyn Elise is lovely

Cheeselog · 29/09/2022 16:23

Can’t you use Elise as the first name? That’s my favourite. Not keen on Lowenna (makes me think of cows lowing), Xanthe or Merryn.

ChagSameachDoreen · 29/09/2022 16:26

Xanthe - sounds like a sugar substitute
Clemency - Clem sounds like slang for vaginal discharge
Fleur - sounds like fetching. Not great with Elise.
Lowenna - nice.
Elowen - very nice.
Kerenza - nice
Merryn - nice.
Robyn - gorgeous.

ChagSameachDoreen · 29/09/2022 16:26

Retching, not fetching!

Twizbe · 29/09/2022 16:26

Clemency - but just because I know one and she's lovely.

All I will say though is that as a kid she felt sad that nothing ever had her name on it in shops. Her sister has a more common name and that was on everything.

You can't have Fleur Elise!! 😂

Exactly my first thought too 😁

IggyAce · 29/09/2022 16:31

Robyn

Pemba · 29/09/2022 16:32

Trouble with Clemency - I remember the writer Susan Hill (wrote The Woman in Black) telling how her daughter Clemency wanted to help with a campaigning charity for prisoners on death row in the USA, one thing they did is write letters to the prisoners. She was told not to because of her name. You can see why, the poor prisoner, seeing the word Clemency would jump to assume that they were getting a reprieve. Pretty name though, but are you sure you don't like Clementine?

I like Xanthe and Kerenza.

Prefer Morwenna to Lowenna.

mathanxiety · 29/09/2022 16:34

I don't like Fleur or Clemency, but the other names are nice.

I think Elowen, Mervyn, and Robyn flow really well with Elise, but Kerenza and Lowenna are gorgeous names.

mathanxiety · 29/09/2022 16:35

And Xanthe too - goes so well with Elise.

Gamergirl84 · 29/09/2022 16:38

Merryn is beautiful and flows off thr tongue with Elise... I actually really really like Fluer Elise! Yes, it's a well know classical piece but what a pretty namesake!

Cheeselog · 29/09/2022 16:50

Fleur and für don’t actually sound anything alike though? Für is kind of like the first syllable of fury and fleur is like her.

Lucasboo · 29/09/2022 16:54

Yea sorry I should have added if we chose Fleur we wouldn’t be using Elise 🤣

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 29/09/2022 18:37

I think Elise is the nicest name there. I don't mind Robyn though.

Blahburst · 29/09/2022 18:39

I like Merryn a lot.

Boxofsockss · 29/09/2022 18:46

Elowen sounds too much like L O L. I think I’d have to say Robyn is my favourite

DuchessOfSausage · 29/09/2022 19:16

Xanthe - ok
Clemency (after a relative and we quite like it but don’t like Clementine) - ok but I don't like the Cl bit
Fleur - ok, not with Elise
Lowenna - nice
Elowen - people will say EL-owen or L-O-N, not El-OW-en. Will be Ellie, Elowen Elise is too many Els
Kerenza - ok,, a bit frilly
Merryn - not keen, sounds harsh
Robyn - ok

Mumofgirls2017 · 30/09/2022 09:22

LoveXanthe, Clemency and Elowen

Belladonnamama · 30/09/2022 09:23

Definately Robyn.

S25 · 30/09/2022 13:14

Robyn Elise is gorgeous
