Robyn
or
Freya

Which do you prefer and what do the names 'say' to you? Thank you :-)

Robyn sounds a bit dull and not feminine. Freya is a mid-range name ok but not very special.

ChocolateSpreadOnToast · 28/09/2022 18:31

I really dislike Robyn, it’s so wet. Freya is ok but hugely popular, feels like I hear it a lot.

User6761 · 28/09/2022 18:37

I really like Robyn, and to me it's a strong sounding name for a girl. I like girls names that end in 'n' generally.

I'm not so keen on Freya, nothing wrong with it, just a bit bland to me.

urbanbuddha · 28/09/2022 18:42

I like them both. I suppose Freya's a bit more ethereal but Robyn's more unusual.

Pixilicious1 · 28/09/2022 18:48

I thought I liked Robyn then a friend had a Robyn and I’ve gone off it. It’s not very feminine I think. Freya is nicer.

SallyWD · 28/09/2022 19:10

I don't like Robyn. It sounds ugly and a little American to me. I think Freya is a very good name - elegant and pretty yet strong.

CarsonViolet · 28/09/2022 19:33

Love both but I'd personally go with Robyn just

CarsonViolet · 28/09/2022 19:34

because Freya's becoming quite popular.

(Don't know what happened to split these comments - apologies!)

Everydaywheniwakeup · 28/09/2022 19:36

Like Robyn, much nicer alternative to the weirdly popular Rowan. Really do not like Freya, feels dumpy and unattractive.

KylieCharlene · 28/09/2022 19:40

In my humble opinion
Robyn- 90's vibe, retro, cool, and streetwise.
Freya- kind of earthy and spiritual.

If I had to choose I'd go with Freya.

stormelf · 28/09/2022 19:46

I love the name Freya, it such a beautiful sounding name. However it is extremely popular but if you love the name that shouldn't put you off

PaperPalace · 28/09/2022 19:47

Robyn

J0y · 28/09/2022 19:48

Too many Freya from 2000 to 2020 the name will date. Not necessarily badly but like Claire.

I like robyn

Jleome · 28/09/2022 19:50

Love Robyn

ErrolTheDragon · 28/09/2022 19:53

Freya is a lovely timeless name.

Robyn always looks odd, is the y supposed to make Robin more feminine? It sounds like an American from the era of shoulder padded suits in the 1980s to me.

J0y · 28/09/2022 19:55

It"s lovely but it certainly isn't timeless.

ChocolateSpreadOnToast · 28/09/2022 20:16

Freya isn’t timeless.

Why are all names declared timeless. Hmm

Luredbyapomegranate · 28/09/2022 21:58

Love them both, although much prefer the straightforward Robin spelling - Robyn is 70s weirdness, it’s long been a unisex name

Freya I think is elegant and slightly mystical, Robin sparky and fun.

Freya was massively overused for a long time, so it won’t stand out as it should. Robin seems very popular now, but not yet at the stage of being overused although there are other popular and very similar names eg Rowan

I think Freya is probably more unusual right now (check on dark greener) if so I’d go for that

Although there is always Thora, which really needs a revival
