Our girls list

Hi all,

Baby due in a few weeks and don't know what we're having. Struggling with both girls and boys names but probably more so with girls. This is our list so far, does anyone have any thoughts or additional suggestions. I feel we need to shorten the list down a bit.

Marnie
Grace
Erin
Ria
Arabella
Clara
Ivy
Sophia
Mia
Abigail
Lavinia
Bethany/Bethan

Lavinia always reminds me of the film Little Princess (a classic but definitely showing my age) and there's a not particularly nice character in it called Lavinia.

There's a line in the film that goes "Even snotty, two-face bullies like you, Lavinia!"

I love Florence (slightly biased as I have one myself and it's NEVER shortened to Flora, usually Flo), and Clara. Neither are particularly popular in the area I'm from but seem to be quite common in other locations.

I agree with others about Arabella too, she'll definitely be shortened to Bella and I know loads of Bellas (including my friend's cat).

Have you thought about Connie, Martha or Imogen? Both very classical names but not done to death.

@Littlelostbird yes we really love Imogen and that was on the list too but a close family member has recently used it. Otherwise would've been a strong contender.
