Hello!

Second baby, don't know what we are having but have the boys name picked. Already have a daughter with Spanish sounding name as we have Spanish ancestry.

Can't begin with H, as our surname does and I don't really like alliteration.

Can't end in -ee sound, as it would rhyme with surname and I don't like that! So unfortunately no Zoe, Felicity. I like those.

Names I like but can't use:
Lucia
Zara
Alva

Names I quite like but not sure just yet:
Alessia
Noelia
Lidiya

Thanks for any ideas!!!! I’m so stuck!

Alba

Fernanda
Inez
Rosario
Estella (actually Estela in Spanish, but Estella is an easier spelling here)
Camilla (actually Camila but same as above)
Luciana

Lydia is spelt Lidia - same as in Italian.
Noelia sounds a bit garbled in English.

Quite like Alessia but prefer Alicia which is also used in Spain

I worked with a Noelia and I loved the name, she was Spanish too. I always thought it sounded christmassy but that doesn't matter too much.

Lidiya would always be spelt as Lydia so she would have a lifetime of correcting the spelling. Also, Noelia would become Noella?

Gabriella?

Of the three, Lydia, but with this spelling.

Baciecafe · 22/09/2022 13:17

Thanks so much for the replies. Such good suggestions. I think I meant to spell it Lydia but I like both spellings.

I like Gabriella, but I taught an awful boy called Gabriel which puts me off a bit sadly 😞

I do like Claudia a lot. My daughter’s name ends in -ia. I don’t suppose that matters too much really.

i like Valentina, but I don’t like Tina. 😬

Could you bear Val for Valentina?

Baciecafe · 24/09/2022 22:22

Thanks so much! Given us lots to think about. Not sure I like Val.

I am really leaning towards names that end in -ia, but my daughter’s name also does. Does it sounds too matchy?

Love Hazel and Naomi too but came use due to alliteration and rhyming with surname😞

thanks again for any other suggestions!
