I can't think of any that I like!

Would like something not top twenty, but not too unusual so a name that people will likely have heard of.
No biblical names.
Like the sound of Welsh and Scandinavian origin names.

Any ideas?

Not all Welsh/Scandi, but here are some names out of the top 20 I like. Not sure if any of them are biblical (I'm not very biblical so would need to look it up!) but none are overtly religious like Elijah/Josiah.

August
Casimir
Henrik
Linus
Magnus
Rasmus
Robin
Stellan

I like your style!

My sons:

Jonas - Scandi

Now I'll change my MN name again 😂

I'm not a great reader of the bible, but I thought it was JonaH and the whale? I dunno, perhaps there is a Jonas in there.

I consider Jonas a very Northern European name, like the author (Swedish?). My Jonas plays football with a Lithuanian Jonas of the same age, whose family pronounce it "yonas". I picked the name after the Weezer song 😂

Everyone in the family tree seems to be named Matthew, Mark, John, James... very biblical!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Some nice names but nothing that's grabbed me so far.

@biftaa, Jonah and Jonas are both biblical. IIRC, Jonah is OT and Jonas NT.

itssquidstella · 19/09/2022 15:45

I have a Magnus, pleased to see it getting so much love on here!

We also considered:

Jonas
Stellan
Torsten

If I was to ever have another boy (not going to happen as we are happy with our three) he'd either be called Fenn or Leif.

DD would've been Leif if age was a boy

TooManyMoronsHere · 19/09/2022 22:33

If you pick a very obviously Welsh or Scandinavian name (with local pronunciations) with no actual ties to those countries it might be a bit odd.

My suggestions for uncommon names would be:

Nico
Farley
Leon
