Evereigh or Aliannah

I do prefer less common names and have been looking online and come across these. I like modern names more than the classic top 10 names like olivia, lily etc… Aliannah can be shortened to Ali for a nickname which i like. Everleigh isn’t very common over here in the UK but quite well known in the US which i dosent bother me too much. Which one do you prefer?

Sorry for the typo on the caption! it’s spelt Everleigh

Aliannah is beautiful. Everliegh does sound very American and pageant princess. If that's your bag :)

Purplemoons2827 · 18/09/2022 17:49

Neither are my taste, but I like the nickname Ali so would go with that. Really dislike Everleigh

Luredbyapomegranate · 18/09/2022 17:50

Everleigh sounds like a battery with a younique spelling, so I wouldn’t

Alannah is nice. Everyone will think it’s this anyway and it’s less frilly.

RuthW · 18/09/2022 17:50

I like Everleigh and I like Aliana ( with an arna rather than anna)

Crankley · 18/09/2022 20:59

Neither.

TabithaTittlemouse · 18/09/2022 21:02

Everleigh heavily
Aliannah banana

No

legophoenix · 18/09/2022 21:05

Neither

SparkyBlue · 18/09/2022 21:23

Neither to be honest. Everleigh reminds me of ever ready and Aliannah reminds me of someone trying to make the name Alana (which I love) more interesting or unique

GreenTeaPingPong · 18/09/2022 21:26

So if she has two male siblings they'll be the Everleigh Brothers?

MamMedusa · 18/09/2022 21:29

Love Everleigh not keen on Aliannah.

Caroffee · 18/09/2022 21:32

Neither.

I like Aliana though.

Needmorelego · 18/09/2022 21:36

Everleigh I would probably spell Everly. Getting the 'ei' the correct way round on the other spelling would always make me have to stop and double check.
Other than that I think it's a fairly pretty name. The name snobs on here will sneer at it but it's one of those names I personally wouldn't use but would think "oh that's a pretty name" and not really think anything else about it.
Aliannah is also pretty but I don't think it needs the 'h' on the end. It makes it look too long - if that makes sense.
So basically -
Everly
Alianna
Yep... both pretty names.

1user · 18/09/2022 21:38

Aliannah

jewishmum · 18/09/2022 21:41

I like Alianna. It reminds me of Eliyanah. Same sound.

WhackingPhoenix · 18/09/2022 21:42

Both dreadful.

HorribleHerstory · 18/09/2022 21:45

Everly, Everleigh and Everley are pretty common at the moment and rising in England and Wales. The spellings added together are nearly top 100 from 2020. If I was after an unusual name that wouldn’t be my pick.

User6761 · 18/09/2022 21:47

I don't really like either but think the simpler spellings Everly and Aliana are better.

I do like Ali and Alanna(h).

LittleBearPad · 18/09/2022 21:48

Neither. Everleigh sounds like an insurance company. Aliannah is too much. Alannah is ok

PeekAtYou · 18/09/2022 21:54

Everleigh sounds like a building society or something else corporate like a gardening tool company . I know Everley is popular in the US but I think it sounds awful

Aliannah is much better but I'd go for a simpler spelling like Aliana

Fivebeanchilli · 18/09/2022 21:55

I'm not a fan of Everleigh but would prefer the Everly spelling (but just not keen on unisex names personally).
Aliana is ok. I think Aliannah just looks very clunky and over the top. I know 2 Elianas who both pn it ellie-anna so I think you would get the pronunciation you want from Aliana. Alianna would be an alternative but the h at the end ruins it.

RoachTheHorse · 19/09/2022 06:50

Neither. She'll be having to spell her name to people for all eternity and it will never be written correctly by people first time.

KirstenBlest · 19/09/2022 15:08

Neither. Everleigh is awful, and Alannah is much nicer rhan Aliannah

ZealAndArdour · 19/09/2022 15:11

I do prefer less common names.

Funny, because they both sound common as muck. What about Evelyn or Alanna.

Puppyseahorse · 19/09/2022 15:19

Are you in the US?

sorry OP, in the U.K. names like this just make people think ‘that child has dim parents.’

agree with others than Alanna is nice. Or Alexandra or Alison, if you like Ali.
