Before I opened your thread I was actually going to suggest Willow.
I can't stand Cordelia, sorry.
I don't like the sound of Hazel but I like the vibe of it with Rowan.
To me Tabitha has a magical vibe which I love (to me its in the same vein as Aurora and Felicity, but I don't like the name personally. However (as with Hazel) I do love it with Rowan.

I don't like Jasper but a sib set of Jasper and Rowan would be fab.
Sylvian is awful I've nothing positive to say about that one.
Otto is perfect in both sound and vibe.
Felix see Jasper

Luredbyapomegranate · 15/09/2022 17:17

Cordelia is the one I like best
Tabitha is cute
Hazel is maybe a bit twinny but OK
Willow is a bit wet and will be unfortunate if she isn’t willowy

Jasper is nice
Felix is OK
Sylvan is a bit odd - maybe Silas?
Otto always makes me think of Nazis. Ivo?

I know an 18yo Xander, and yes his mother was an insane Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan. That was my first thought when you said either Cordelia or Willow, especially when you listed the number #3 as another top witch-related name, Tabitha, which still reminds people of Bewitched after sixty years.

I do still like the names, and I'd imagine that not many people will ask if the name was inspired by telly by the time your child is a teen, but the Xander I know chuckles as soon as he is asked, because people ask him all the time!

All lovely, I’d probably go for Willow and Jasper but it’s hard!

Fullmoonagain · 17/09/2022 22:46

Really like Tabitha and Cordelia (delia for short). Sorry but Willow sounds insipid and faddy and Hazel dated.
Like Otto and Felix.

Luana1 · 17/09/2022 23:17

Thanks for your opinions everyone, much appreciated:)

Not Willow or Hazel - matching tree names is far too twee.
Love Cordelia - but Cora or Coco don’t seem like abbreviations for it. Especially not Coco, which again falls into twee for me!
I know Cora looks like it comes from CORdeliA but I think the D is what makes Cordelia not Cora (as a full name) in the first place. Corda would feel more of an abbreviation. Cora is so different in sound I’d wonder why bother calling her Cordelia in the first place?

NuffSaidSam · 17/09/2022 23:29

I love Cora. Hazel is nice too.

Not keen on Willow or Tabitha and Cordelia is awful.

I like Otto best from your boys list. Sylvan, Felix and Jasper all fine too, but don't love them.

I'm not keen on the matchy matchy tree vibe though so I'd avoid tree names (even though they are nice names).
