DC due in a few weeks. Myself and OH have been round and round in circles trying to a choose a name. Most of the names we both like have reasons not to use them 😩 Eventually we found a name that we both like and that is usable and I was so relieved!

And then I realise that if we use that name for DC the three of us would have names that end with the same sound (think along the lines of Rowan, Lauren, Teagan, Megan, Serren type endings).

I’d also say my name sounds a bit similar to the chosen name for DC for other reasons too (but doesn’t begin with same letter and doesn’t rhyme apart from the ending. Same sort of similarity level as something like Lisa and Eliza for example). I didn’t notice when we first chose the name but now I’ve noticed I can’t stop thinking of it.

We already have another DC who has a completely different name.

Would the name similarity put you off or am I fretting over things that don’t matter in the real world?

I dont want to have to go back to the drawing board really 😭

No it doesn’t matter.

Doesn't matter at all.

Doesn’t matter. x

It doesn't matter! Especially if you can deal with the odd, tactless comment that you may get very rarely about it. Maybe come up with a witty stock answer if someone mentions it.

Thanks all! 🙂 Time to stop over-analysing and to just start enjoying the fact that we found a name we are both pleased with I think!

Myself, DH, and DD all have 'ee' ending sound to our names, I had the opposite thought to you that if we had another dc would it be weird if they didn't have that too?
But in all seriousness we didn't actually think about it when naming DD, and no-one has ever mentioned it either.

It's totally fine.
