Help-5 days to go - looking for a Welsh Boys name!

Help, running out of time and need to find a Welsh Boy's name. I am welsh, live in England and DH (English) wants to give DS2 a welsh name like his brother. Have looked through so many lists and books but many names will not be pronounable in England due to the language barrier. Can anybody suggest phonetic welsh boys names?

So annoying that have no problems with girls names - Ffion Lowri but it ain't going to happen!

Gwilym.

My entirely imaginary third child would be called that (DH and DCs have uber-Welsh surname).

Gil or Will for short.

Owen is a good compromise - Welsh name but English spelling. Ditto Hugh rather than Huw.

Chuffinnora · 23/01/2008 13:03

Aneurin shortened to Nye is lovely and not over used here in Wales.
There are lots of Dylan's Tomos', Cai's and Harri's here.

Sunshinemummy · 23/01/2008 13:07

My friend's dad is called Tudor which I think is really cool.

branflake81 · 23/01/2008 13:51

ejt1764 · 23/01/2008 14:01

I have a Rhydian who's 5 (has made life rather interesting recently!), but we also liked:

Rhys
Geraint
Gethin
Mathonwy (always gets shortened to Math)
Caradog
Elis
Dewi
Aled
Sion
Madog

we had to keep it simple as most of my family live in Birmingham (although I'm in South Wales, and dh is Welsh-speaking!)

hth!

Iklboo · 23/01/2008 14:02

Rhodri
Maerlyn (pronounced Merlin - BIL's friend has called her son this)

catgirl · 23/01/2008 14:12

Dylan
Bryn
Gareth
?

I have a baby vest with 50% English 50% welsh 100% gorgeous on it - would you like it? I don't know anyone in real life who would put their child in it!! Happy to post to you if you like.

Ffion was our choice for a girl too... I have two boys - never mind!

wilbur · 23/01/2008 14:21

Ds2 has Glyn as a middle name - a little touch of my Welsh heritage, and actually it would have suited him as a first name too.

Don't forget David.

Artichokes · 23/01/2008 14:23
