Middle names for...

Baby number two is due in a few weeks and we are struggling with middle names. No idea if we are having a bit or a girl so....

Middle names to go with the following first names please (surname is single syllable but not anything strange. Very run of the mill and not easily made strange with other names!)

Sebastian....

And.

Vesper....

Vesper ? Sounds like a moped.

Is Vesper the girl's name?

Personally I'd go for a middle name which has meaning, some heritage for the child eg. From their culture or family or with a meaning you love.

Middle names which just 'sound good' are really pointless imo as they are so very rarely said. But as an older child/ adult YOU know your middle name and it's lovely if it can convey a bit of your identity.

Vesper is a big name. Have you considered Hester which is still very unusual? I would go with something quite common for the middle name so she had choices like Florence or Charlotte.

We are aware Vesper is both unusual and as someone has said is a "big" name - that's why we are struggling to find a middle name that fits!

We also like the idea of a more traditional / common middle name to go with it in case as she grows up she doesn't like it. We have our own reasons for choosing it and like it a lot.

Vesper Colette? I feel like you'd need to lean in to the flamboyance a little!

If you like V names perhaps Sebastian Vincent for a boy?
