I'll go first.

I love the name Annie I think it's absolutely beautiful problem is me and my partner are both red heads and make red headed curly haired children.

Kit, my absolute favourite boys name. Sounds ridiculous with my surname.

Chen?
Kat?

inmyslippers · 06/09/2022 21:36

Carmen already one in the family

Changedmynamefor · 06/09/2022 21:37

Our surname is also a place, so it ruled out my two top favourites Iona and Angus as the full name would have sounded like an address…

Paddingtonsmarmlade · 06/09/2022 21:38

Ernest but dh shortens everything and I don't like Ernie plus he always sings the fastest milkman song

81Poppy · 06/09/2022 21:39

Just to say I have just had a baby Annie, she has bright ginger hair, I think it's fine not sure if it is going to go curly yet though lol

ShandaLear · 06/09/2022 21:44

Chlamydia. Ok, it’s not really a name and it’s really a sexual disease but I love the word and if it didn’t mean what it meant I’d definitely have given it to my DD 😁

Flittingaboutagain · 06/09/2022 21:51

What is the obvious reason for not using Myra? I know quite few under 10.

VouisLuitton · 06/09/2022 21:52

Hindley?

Ayah. Dd1 had that name for three whole days, but in laws forced us to change it :'( always resented that, but I'm happy with the name we chose instead.

Justdancers · 06/09/2022 21:57

James due to our surname
Lyra due to it sounding very much like tyra, my dogs name

I also love biblical names like jedidiah, eizikel, ira, reuban and judah. However my partner is from a culture where strongly connected bible names wouldnt be appreciated!

Russell but I slept with a Russ & husband hates him 🤣

Yes I assumed that but as she's been dead 20 years I would only expect relatives of the victims or those involved in the case to feel the need to avoid the name. As I said I know lots of children with the name now as the parents and even grandparents weren't even born during the murders. So it doesn't seem obvious to me to avoid the name...

Metabigot · 06/09/2022 22:09

Outing, but my daughter is called Faye and i wanted to give her Leah as a middle name... until I realised she'd be called Failure! Good job I thought it through and chose something else.

Northernerinwales · 06/09/2022 22:11

I love Lavinia, it was my nans name but my DH hates it

TwistAgain · 06/09/2022 22:12

Joseph. I love it but it wouldn’t work well with the surname when shortened. Plus two and done 😅

Violettaa · 06/09/2022 18:34

Tadhg. It’s a lovely sound and all the Tadgh’s I’ve known have been lovely. But it would be absurd on my British Asian babies!

That’s a horrible name. (Useful in scrabble though)

Is it Kat? 🤣

Mumoftoomanygirls · 06/09/2022 22:22

Lenore, obviously due to the fabric softener

giantwaterbottle · 06/09/2022 22:23

Gabriel. I love both my kids names but sometimes wished I hadn't chicken out and used it. I thought he'd get teased :(

earlybaby · 06/09/2022 22:27

Loveday.

DP will NOT even consider it 😞

LorW · 06/09/2022 22:28

Madeleine, I have always loved it but can’t use it as I’d always just think of the missing girl and I guess a lot of people would.

MoltenLasagne · 06/09/2022 22:34

I also can't use Annie but that's because it's the name of DH's ex.

I love the name Rory for a boy but can't pronounce my Rs well so really couldn't put that on a child.

Openup · 06/09/2022 22:34

Loveday
