What do you think?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Aquamarine1029 · 06/09/2022 11:36

I like it as a nickname. It's cute for a little girl, but she won't be a little girl forever.

RuthW · 06/09/2022 12:17

India yes
Indie no.

It's a shortening

KirstenBlest · 06/09/2022 12:18

I think it lacks any substance.

GiltEdges · 06/09/2022 12:19

To me, it is and always will be a dog name.

India is much nicer.

BreastedBoobilyToTheStairs · 06/09/2022 12:20

A music/film genre.

AmandaMirandaPanda · 06/09/2022 12:37

As a statement of support for Scottish self-determination I prefer Caledonia, or Alba.

RandomMusings7 · 06/09/2022 13:25

A little hippie flower-powery. Cute on a girl, not so much on an adult woman who wants to be taken seriously

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 06/09/2022 13:53

It was an abbreviation for Indiana Jones.

pinkyredrose · 06/09/2022 17:22

It's gorgeous!

KnickerlessParsons · 06/09/2022 17:23

Indie Ref??

Luredbyapomegranate · 06/09/2022 20:11

It’s OK as a nn, but as a full name it’s nothingy, and also trying to be cool (and failing)

Short for Indigo I guess. India is a bit dodgy if you have no relevant heritage.

SatinHeart · 07/09/2022 11:34

Way overused round my way - it's basically the new Evie

It's cute but personally I would want a more grown up name like India on the birth certificate. I know not everyone agrees with that though!

MrsU2022 · 07/09/2022 11:47

Love it!

takemetomars · 07/09/2022 12:00

My male dog is called Indy

Crunchymum · 07/09/2022 12:44

I wanted to use Indiana for DD1 (I imagine she would have would have been Indie for short but who knows)

Absolutely everyone I have ever mentioned it to DD is now 8 and has a totally different name has hated it. Then and now, not one person liked it.

I still love it myself, but Indiana not Indie.

IMustMakeAmends · 07/09/2022 12:46

I'm not keen to be honest. It makes me think of the independence referendum, it's not a particularly interesting or nice sound, and it's not very grown up. Very nick-namey. I'm quite flummoxed by it's popularity.

Dogtooth · 07/09/2022 12:54

really bad

SmellsLikeMiddleAgeSpirit · 07/09/2022 14:46

I don’t like it, I’m sorry. Sounds like it’s trying to be cool, but not quite managing.
And in any case ‘coolness’ shouldn’t be too big a consideration when naming a child.

Mummytobe333 · 08/09/2022 09:17

Not keen sorry! Agree with the sounds too hard trying to be ‘cool’

ChagSameachDoreen · 09/09/2022 06:42

Weird colonial undertones.

StarlingsInTheRoof · 09/09/2022 07:02

I like it. Would go with indigo as a full name.

ofwarren · 09/09/2022 07:05

The Scottish independence movement and a music genre.
It's not a name.

avocadotofu · 09/09/2022 07:06

As a nickname for India I think it's fine.

VeganGordie · 09/09/2022 11:57

I like this name but I actually prefer India
