Hi I'm a Muslim convert living in the uk. I want to choose a name for my son but finding it hard to choose.
I like the names Zayne (zain) Laith ,Amal, Elias , Jude, Faris , Zachariah, and Danyal . More traditional options are Khaled Omar and Karim

Choosing a Muslim boys name

YouSoundLovely · 31/08/2022 18:29

I like Karim and Elias. Easy to spell and pronounce, international.

Mummy652 · 31/08/2022 19:28

I like them names. Elias has been recommended to me the most. @YouSoundLovely

Luredbyapomegranate · 31/08/2022 20:27

I’d go for Zachariah

Elias and Jude also great but v popular

Danyal will mean him correcting people who think he said Daniel for his whole life

Laith is Ok but sounds a bit like a carpenters tool.

Faris sounds like a girls name to me

Zain is a bit boy band, I do know it isn’t but for a lot of people that’s the impression it creates

I’d avoid Khaled, Omar and Ahmed - they all just sound old fashioned to me. Karim is ok.

With Zachariah is it's a very long name so I don't know 🤷‍♀️

I could choose Elias or karim I think they would work well. No pronunciation or any other issues.

It wouldn't be nice to correct people all the time.

Laith is my favourite from your list.

Nellle · 31/08/2022 20:59

Love Faris, Karim and Omar. Not one you mentioned, but I also love Tariq.

They are all nice, although Zachariah would probably be Zach for short, which also works well. Congratulations, whatever you call him!

Louise0701 · 31/08/2022 21:53

I like Zayd & Elias

Mummy652 · 01/09/2022 09:54

@Nellle I like Karim and Omar.

Somebody mentioned to me Tariq and also Asher before

Mummy652 · 01/09/2022 09:55

@Luredbyapomegranate Oh zach for short and thanks🤩

Mummy652 · 01/09/2022 09:56

I like Elias but I don't like Zayd @Louise0701

Mummy652 · 01/09/2022 18:26

@Luredbyapomegranate Which of the names sound more feminine to you and which more 'masculine'. I'm going to be choosing the name today

Luredbyapomegranate · 01/09/2022 21:40

Of your final 3 Zachariah and Elias sound masculine to me, Karim more feminine.

Also I think Zach and Elias are known to be boys names, Karim is less well known to many people and it does sound a bit like Karen.

Have a good day!

Mumofgirls2017 · 03/09/2022 21:37

I like Laith, Elias

Gillyx · 04/09/2022 09:37

I like Laith, I went to school with a Laith but it was spelt Layth, just in case you prefer that spelling but I think they both look good

Mummy652 · 05/09/2022 18:16

What do you think of Omar @Gillyx @Mumofgirls2017 I heard it works well

My friends Muslim with a zayn

17caterpillars1mouse · 05/09/2022 21:03

I've always liked the name Laith ever since I came across it in a baby name book when pregnant with dd1.

Mummy652 · 06/09/2022 14:56

@Autumnchills415 i like this name but somebody said to me about some boy band 🤭 there is also Ali that I like but that's more of a nickname

CristinaNov182 · 06/09/2022 16:25

I like Zayne. Someone saids it’s sounds like a boy band name but this is temporary no one will remember in a few years time.
