Jacob Oscar

I didn't get to use the name Jacob with my first son and would really like to use if my second is a boy.
Initially I thought of using Jacob as middle name "Hugo Jacob" but I'm now going back to using as a first name.
Oscar is almost an anagram of the name my parents would have called me if I was a boy and had a very similar meaning. But I think it sounds quite clunky.
So..... what sounds better?
Hugo Jacob or Jacob Oscar.
Thanks.

Jacob is lovely as a first name and personally I prefer it to Hugo, but do you like Jake?
Because that's likely what he'll be called a lot.
Middle names aren't that important really.

I think Jacob Oscar is lovely

I love Hugo Jacob but Jacob Hugo also sounds good.
Not so enamoured of Jacob Oscar, and Hugo Oscar flows better.
If you will regret not using Jacob why not go for Jacob Hugo?

@OakAshBeech Middle names are important in our house. About 80% of the time my others are called by their first and middle name together. No they are not double barrelled or hyphenated. I just think what's the point in having a middle name if you don't use it. So we do. Personal choice. That's why it needs to roll off the tongue nicely.

@Cindie943811A Thank you, for some reason I'm not so keen on Hugo as a middle name, but can't put my finger on why. Also like Louis but concerned about pronunciation. Jacob Louis?

Jacob Oscar is great.

I’m not a Jacob fan so personally prefer Hugo Jacob x

Jacob Louis flows well. Or if you want to be sure of pronunciation Jacob Lewis? A bit contradictory there as I expect you prefer the French pronunciation rather than the American?
I like your custom of using both names — very affectionate I feel, IYKWIM?
