It’s absolutely lovely and why on earth would you have to put the longer form Josephine on the birth certificate? Yes, I know somebody will be along in a minute to explain that it “gives them more options” or some such bollocks - fact is, you like the name Josie so call the child Josie.

I love it!

My DS has a long name but is only ever known by the short version. Think Matt/Matthew. He absolutely hates when he gets called the long version on his passport, doctors etc. I wish I'd just called him the short version tbh.

Really cute.

thelittlestbird · 27/08/2022 16:20

Yeah it's an ace name.

RuthW · 27/08/2022 16:59

Josephine is lovely.

Livpool · 27/08/2022 18:28

My friend's daughter is called Josie - I think it is lovely

Glowinglights · 27/08/2022 18:35

Josie is a lovely cool name and no need to put a longer version on the bc, in my opinion.

Kite22 · 27/08/2022 18:44

I really like it

Pigeon05 · 27/08/2022 19:13

I like this a lot! Wonder if nn Jo would be inevitable though.

Also I just like Josie not Josephine. I'd hate to have a long name like that.

ChagSameachDoreen · 27/08/2022 21:41

I like it.

SizzlerFizzler · 27/08/2022 21:46

I like Josephine but if you don't you don't and in that case I think Josie is just fine as a full name. I'd imagine a Josie to be outgoing and fun. And cheeky, in a good way. But if she's quiet and bookish that's cool too Grin

KangarooKenny · 27/08/2022 21:47

I like it.
Also used to know a Janie. Jay-nee.

There is a josie on this morning itv she's lovely. I think it's a really nice name and not very common

DeeDeeDaisy · 29/08/2022 00:03

I like it! I've only ever met 2 - one who is now in her late 20s and one who is 1 or 2. Both have it as their full name
