after a few posts I Think we have actually found a name we both like! So I just wondered:

how popular is Zachary now for babies and under 5s?

would you spell the shortening Zac, Zach, Zak or some other way?

any negative associations I should be aware of?

I know 3 babies with the name who were all born earlier this year.

I think it's having a bit of a revival but that's because it's a nice name

Our 3 year old son is called Zachary. Shortened to Zach.

My 5 year old is a Zachary, shortened to Zac.

However there are a few different spellings of it, I find if you don’t spell it out, people automatically spell it Zackery

I have a 13 year old Zachary which is usually shortened to Zac. I’m a bit biased - he’s lovely! 🥰

My five year old son is a Zachary. He likes to be called Zach. I really like his name and I don't know many others so it's neither unusual or too popular.

I'm sorry but I don't like he nickname Zac - it sounds like sack and just not substantial imo.

I have a two-year-old Zachary. I call him Zachary but it frequently gets shortened to Zach by others! I'm a secondary school teacher and have met only two Zacharys in the last 5 years.

I had a crush on Zack Morris for years so I love the name. you'll probably have to tell.people how to spell it if you shorten it because there are different options but that's normal for a lot.of names

I love it abs if I had a third son I'd use it! Zack would be my spelling for a nickname!

I think it is lovely. There are 2 in my DC's class, but they are the only 2 I have ever met, so there certainly are not loads running about.
