Astrid and August

Are Astrid and August to much for siblings/twins? Not purposely looking for same initial but I love both of them.

I think lovely. There are some minor practicality issues of the shared initial, but I like that the a’s are different sounds “a” va “au” - makes for a nice little link without it sounding too much.

August isn’t necessarily my kind of name but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it, and I LOVE Astrid. Great names :)

I really like August and am decidedly less keen on Astrid but I think they would work fine together as sibling names.

All things being equal I’d avoid matching initials for siblings, especially twins, but if they are your absolute favourite names it wouldn’t be a dealbreaker either. The names sound district from each other. The names are both nice. Together they sound very current.

Not keen on matchy initials for twins as feel they need their separate identity.

I LOVE the name Astrid. I think they go pretty well together.

Both are lovely names, really.

I like them but I don't think they go together. I think of Astrid as a cold sharp name and August as a hot mellow name.

I think it's too twinny. The twins society recommend you don't do this. Do something matchy as a middle name?

Ii don't like August at all. The -gust bit makes me think of disgust.
I wouldn't use matching initials but if you want to, Angus or Austin are much nicer than August.

I think they're too similar, sorry to say.

I don't think they have anything in common except for starting with A when written. I would consider this an odd choice.

I don't really like the name Astrid as to me it sounds very harsh and cold but I LOVE august.

And they sound well together too.
