Are there any names that you just can't imagine on a baby?

Each to their own but I just can't picture a baby Frank. It seems such a harsh sounding adult name for a baby especially a newborn yet there have obviously been a lot of baby Franks but somehow I have a mental block when picturing it.

Does anyone else feel this way about a name?

I actually really like some of the names listed.

I struggle to imagine a baby Quentin. Or Bertha. Or Boris.

Dennis.

Baby Dennis would look like a wizened, grizzled old sea dog, and quite possibly come out smoking a pipe. It would be wrong in every way.

I met a baby Dennis in the park a few months ago, got chatting to the mum & she said he was named after her Dad I rather like it I had an uncle Dennis who was lovely.

I always liked the name John, but we have a monosyllabic surname which didn’t really work with it.

I know a 3 year old Walter who goes by Walt. He is the most glorious little squidgy bundle of gorgeousness and so I think his name is the ultimate in cool.

I looked after a toddler Richard the other day, felt weird looking at this little boy in a onsie and wellies and calling him Richard.
His family don't shorten it either, it felt really unnatural saying "Do you need a wee Richard?", as if I was asking it of a bank manager.

I knew a baby Ian but could never have imagined calling my child Ian because it's an automatic 50 year old man nameGrin
I think any older name sounds kind of strange but they would usually have been named after an older family member rather than actually just loving the name.

I had a great Aunty Pearl her Sister my Gran was Margaret 😂

Pearl is a traditional nickname for Margaret, as Margaret means Pearl.

I actually know a baby Frank and it suits him perfectly! I think once it’s a real baby and not a theoretical one, any name works

I met a newborn Frank once and he was the tiniest doll-like baby you could imagine. Frank just seemed so wrong on him. It didn't help that his twin had a very soft sounding name.

I'm trying to imagine what name I couldn't picture on a baby girl now. Ermintrude?
