So we found out we’re having a boy after all!!

Frank or Finley we’re torn between!
I like Francis but OH isnt keen and just prefers Frank/Frankie.

Middle name would be James.

Thoughts? 😬💙

Francis James to be known as Frank

Rhaenys · 14/08/2022 20:15

If you want a longer name you could also use Franklin.

FunkedUp · 14/08/2022 20:16

Frankly?

wigglycactus · 14/08/2022 20:20

Frank. It's an awesome name and Finley is quite popular. They could be Frankie when young and then Frank if they want to sound a bit more grown up when older.

AllPlayedOut · 14/08/2022 20:20

Definitely Finley. Frank is such an ugly name.

Mol1628 · 14/08/2022 20:21

Frank.

Dont like Finley much. But I do like Finn!

WishDragon · 14/08/2022 20:26

Finley definitely, much nicer. Finley James is lovely.

I know two Finley’s.

toastofthetown · 14/08/2022 20:27

I prefer Frank. Frank (although it can be used as a diminutive for Francis) isn’t a nickname and is actually an older name than Francis. I would use Frank in preference to Frankie though. If you don’t like Francis, there are no other longer forms I prefer than Frank.

Climbingthelaundrymountain · 14/08/2022 20:28

I love Frank. It's one of my children's middle names. I wanted it for his first name but dh didn't so we used it for his middle name. We all always call him Frank or Frankie anyway!

Luredbyapomegranate · 14/08/2022 20:31

Frank - there are SO MAnY Finns about

I’d go for Francis nn Frank myself - Francis James is lovely. But there is also Franklin.

Definitely Finley. Frank is such an ugly name.

I completely agree

Anystarinthesky · 14/08/2022 20:38

I prefer Finley.

simonthedog · 14/08/2022 20:38

Frank

UsernameIsHarderThanBabyName · 14/08/2022 20:38

Frank! Lovely name

IPFrealy · 14/08/2022 20:41

Love them both but Frank pips it for me. Little Frankie Bear

DuchessOfSausage · 15/08/2022 08:35

Finley sounds really wet. Finn is very popular and a bad boy name.
Frank isn't great. Francis is nice. Franklyn is awful.

emmathedilemma · 15/08/2022 12:32

Finley

SpottyStripyDuvet · 15/08/2022 12:34

I know someone with 2 boys called Finley and Franklin. Both nice I think <not helpful>.

Bootothegoose · 15/08/2022 12:35

DS was nearly Francis. It’s such a beautiful name!

I love Frank/Frankie because of this!

statetrooperstacey · 15/08/2022 12:37

My 16 year old has just started a ‘ manly job’ and has been renamed frank. It suits him! 🤣
lots of Finley’s no franks! Or just wait till you meet him and see which one he looks like.

MaryWM · 15/08/2022 12:47

Frank. Much more distinctive and timeless. Also, Finlay is considered the more proper spelling.

PoxyAndIKnowIt · 15/08/2022 12:55

Frank is awesome! But I'd be tempted to go with Francis or Franklin on BC. Both of which are awesome, too.

Finlay has Scottish roots; Finley is Irish. Both are proper spellings.

LovelyDaaling · 15/08/2022 15:31

Have you considered Finbar? There are alternative spellings too

salharg · 15/08/2022 19:45

Frank for me. I do like Francis but not so keen on Franklin
Finley seems to becoming more popular in my area. I agree Frank is timeless
