Jaze or Jayze

To be pronounced to rhyme with maze?

I prefer Jaze as it's simpler but my DP thinks Jayze looks more solid as a name. We don't like traditional names so James is off the menu. We liked Jay but it's a bit overdone and more boring.

Neither

SoSoSusan · 14/08/2022 20:28

Your bubs your choice hun

😂Indeed.

However if you ask on an anonymous forum for opinions on two God awful names that will have teachers rolling theirs eyes and other parents sniggering, it's hardly surprising that posters are giving honest opinions.

I don't mind Blaze/Blaise but it makes me think of fires. I'll keep Jace on the list for now aswell. What about Zade?

Coming to an estate near you

What about giving your child a name that you didn’t just make up 5 fucking minutes ago?!

user09473672 · 14/08/2022 20:31

Jay-z please

Diverseopinions · 14/08/2022 20:31

Zade makes you think of a shortened version of Lucozade.

Ray, perhaps. Like a 60s hard man name, but also nature inspired, as in ray of sun.

Diverseopinions · 14/08/2022 20:33

As a short name, Leigh might have a cool appeal.

Ooh, what about Lyte short for dioralyte?

ApronLady89 · 14/08/2022 20:34

Zade (among other various spellings of the name) is a very common Arabic name, so if you want something original then this ain't it.

There's about 10 in my school.

ApronLady89 · 14/08/2022 20:35

That really want meant to sound snippy 😂 it's just there really are a lot of them!

CharlotteByrde · 14/08/2022 20:37

John is quite unusual enough.

BeanieTeen · 14/08/2022 20:37

Zade?

I think you’re determined to go down the made up name with ‘ay’ sound route. I guess we may as well be creative then and see if we can come up with something you like.

Tayz
Scayp
Layx
Wayne - no sorry, that’s real.
Flayne then.
Kaith
Dabe

I’m just playing around with the key board, but I think they can all compete the Zade and Jayze.
Does it have to be one syllable?

WhileMyGuitarGentlyWeeps · 14/08/2022 20:39

Oh hell to the no for both. Shock

drumandthebase · 14/08/2022 20:40

Tell me you're joking !!?!

Also, to the PP who used the word "bubs"???

WHYYY? Confused

GucciPearls · 14/08/2022 20:41

instantly reminds me of Jay z what an awful name

ReeseWitherfork · 14/08/2022 20:44

Flayne 😅 brilliant

Agree with PP on Zane. Could that be a goer?

Snowraingain · 14/08/2022 20:44

No no no no

SoupDragon · 14/08/2022 20:47

I'm another one who immediately thought of Jay-Z

there are a lot of names in between "made up" and "traditional" to choose from though. I don't think this is a good name at all.

Montgomerymmoose · 14/08/2022 20:48

Jizz ?

Diverseopinions · 14/08/2022 20:49

Heath is quite a nice one syllable name, with nature-inspired associations.

There is Ace, from the list of one-syllable names, but sounds a bit short and simple. Heath is better.

saywhatwhatnow · 14/08/2022 20:50

I quite like Jace. Secret teen mom fan though Blush

toomuchlaundry · 14/08/2022 20:53

Your child won’t thank you and will probably be changing it as soon as possible. If you like names like that change your own

Diverseopinions · 14/08/2022 20:55

Kade or Kayde are short, and have a nice cadence ( 'scuse the pun) and the hard consonants counter the soft vowel.

Also, if they set up their own fashion merchandising company, later in life, they could call it ' Mayde by Kayde' or 'Made by Kade'.

RooniIWazlib · 14/08/2022 20:56

I prefer Jaze as it's simpler

Do you, aye?
