Wren

but nell goes better with Albie

IrisVersicolor · 31/07/2022 22:26

Nell. The others are a bit twee.

Bunnygirl0 · 31/07/2022 22:53

Nell

ChagSameachDoreen · 31/07/2022 23:21

Orla.

Elsie is a really awkward middle name. It doesn't really flow with anything.

Justhereforthelols · 31/07/2022 23:27

Wren, but im biased as thats my daughters name

Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin · 31/07/2022 23:29

Agree with pp who said Elsie is an awkward middle name - would you have that as a 1st name?

Snugglemonkey · 31/07/2022 23:31

Orla

Maireas · 31/07/2022 23:32

Not Wren, it's a kitchen fitting place.
Fleur is nice

Aquaticshark11 · 31/07/2022 23:55

No, Nell is really unpleasant. And doesn't go with Elsie either. In fact, none of them go brilliantly with it. Could Elizabeth be an option instead? Orla Elizabeth and Wren Elizabeth are quite nice.

StickWithYSL · 31/07/2022 23:58

Elsie seems like an important name for you, but I agree with others, in that it’s a tricky one to go well with your other names.

I like Wren and Nell. However, I think Elsie goes so well with Albie - is there a reason Elsie isn’t considered as a first name?

Hadtocomment · 01/08/2022 00:10

I really like Elsie and Nell. I'm not so keen on Wren or Fleur (which always seems a bit awkward to say). Orla is quite nice.

Goodnewsday · 01/08/2022 00:17

Oh that’s hard! I instantly saw Fleur and thought yes but now looking at the others I do also really love Wren and it’s so unusual and I’ve always loved Nell. I did used to really like orla but I work with kids and have known too many I think. If I was pushed I’d maybe go wren but they are almost equally nice names 🙈

CharlotteOH · 01/08/2022 00:22

Not a fan of Wren. Love Nell but it sounds a little odd with Elsie (too much el sound).

So I suggest Orla or Fleur. Or Ayla or Alys which I really like at the mo.

Harra21 · 01/08/2022 06:12

Elsie is my grandmothers name hence it’s use

thanks for all the input - a mixed bag!

Nell is gorgeous, but Elsie doesn't work as a middle name.

pilates · 01/08/2022 06:58

I would use Elsie as a first name.
It’s quite hard to match a name if you use it for a middle.

Whoatealltheminieggs · 01/08/2022 07:06

I prefer Elsie as a first name over all of those. Nell is really awful. Makes me imagine some downtrodden, misfortunate in a Catherine Cookson.

PancakesWithCheese · 01/08/2022 07:57

I really dislike Wren. I also think it’s faddy. Orla is lovely.

MrsOwainGlyndŵr · 01/08/2022 08:20

Orla is the only one that isn't twee, but I don't like it.
Nell is nice as a nickname, but it's not a name in it's own right.

KirstenBlest · 01/08/2022 08:26

Call her Elsie Fleur.
Wren is awful - kitchens
Orla - I can't unsee Oral
Fleur - depends on accent
Nell - doesn't flow with middle name

Namechange192727171 · 01/08/2022 08:29

Elsie as a first name! Albie and Elsie sound lovely together.

GreyGoose1980 · 01/08/2022 09:03

I think a three or four syllable first name goes best with Elsie as the middle name:
Lydia Elsie
Elizabeth Elsie

Luxa · 01/08/2022 09:06

Orla

MySleevesMayBeGreen · 01/08/2022 09:14

Wren is my favourite, love it.

Hadtocomment · 01/08/2022 13:34

I love Nell but if you want something to flow more with Elsie you could have it short for something like

Elinor Elsie (which flows but maybe too many Es)
Helena Elsie (I like this)
Penelope Elsie (is this too much?)
Anneliese Elsie (this flows)
Nella Elsie (which flows much better than Nell Elsie and is close to Nell)
