For a boy? I like it but sometimes I think most people will hate it!

I quite like it but if your surname is something ordinary, it won't sound right

17caterpillars1mouse · 29/07/2022 13:53

I'm not keen on Hendrix but I do actually love Henrik.

Hendrix seems like trying to be different and naming after the musician.

Henrik is a legitimate alternative to Henry

Newuser82 · 29/07/2022 13:56

I really love it.

35965a · 29/07/2022 13:57

It sounds like a pet name. A dog maybe.

Biscuitsneeded · 29/07/2022 13:59

It's a bit hipster try hard for me. Up there with Lennon and Huxley and Cooper etc. But it's your baby and the opinions of random mums on the internet really don't matter if you like the name!!

Ihatethenewlook · 29/07/2022 14:01

Love it!

titchy · 29/07/2022 14:05

Prefer Hendricks Wink

tillytoodles1 · 29/07/2022 14:09

My friend had a parrot called Hendrix, its not a name I'd choose for a child.

GoAround · 29/07/2022 14:10

I’d think you were pissed on the gin the night you conceived…

Goodnewsday · 29/07/2022 14:13

I really liked this but my husband didn’t do it was a no go for us. It’s ‘cool’ without being weird I think

PatriciaHolm · 29/07/2022 14:14

Jenson Button named his son this. I like it.

Bigwetdog · 29/07/2022 14:17

Try hard by couples who they're cool but almost definitely aren't

alexdgr8 · 29/07/2022 14:18

No.
trying to be trendy, or cutting-edge, or different, or anything else self-regarding, rarely works for the child.
it dates very quickly and can sound insubstantial, so people unconsciously assume the bearer is flakey, unreliable.
just pick a solid, time-trusted name.
good luck.

rosemarysageandthyme · 29/07/2022 14:22

For a dog? Totally fine

RomeoMcFlourish · 29/07/2022 14:24

Our dog is named Hendrix. It suits him, but I wouldn’t use it for a baby.

Amdone123 · 29/07/2022 14:24

I know a Hendrix with siblings Marley and Lennon.
Not for me !

Yes, this - it’s used by saddos

Otis has a similar feel without the saddo baggage, it’s popular though. Or Jethro??

inmyslippers · 29/07/2022 19:54

I love it

edgeware · 29/07/2022 19:57

Hendrik is an actual name. Hendricks is a last name. Both my grandfathers were called Hendrik. It is used in multiple countries I think but for me it is a Dutch name.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 29/07/2022 19:58

It makes me think of the Neighbours character Hendrix Grayson - I quite like it.

ILoveCreamCrackersMe · 29/07/2022 20:07

It's a last name, and if you're a white mc family it's even more cringey try hard.

No2incoming · 30/07/2022 19:44

Wow okay very mixed responses Grin thank you, I think on the whole it seems not the best name.

OP posts:
Saucery · 30/07/2022 19:59

I quite like it, but I know a really nice boy with the name, so that’s probably why.

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 30/07/2022 20:06

So long as you don’t mind the nickname Jimi? Yet another pseudo hippy name 🙄

This^
Also think it will date having said that, why do you care what a bunch of strangers think, if you like it that's what counts
