Sister for Maeve- which of these names

Which of those? Husband is Welsh and I am Irish. I'd prefer a Welsh name this time around but not many that go with Maeve and it also needs to be easy to pronounce and spell!

@MagnoliatheMagnificent , if you speak Welsh it is the word itself not a name that means it. Film star is seren ffilm, gold star is seren aur, star in the sky is seren yn yr awyr etc, so it's an everyday word.
It's not like calling your child Lucy (or another name meaning light).

I know people called Astra and Stella and find those names ok.

Say Maeve and Grace quickly and it sounds like Amazing Grace.

I know loads of young Cerys/Carys. Perhaps it depends where you live.

Whereabouts are you, mizzo? It was very popular with Welsh-speakers in the 1960s, like Tracey or Karen or something. I wouldn't use it because I know far too many of them - older cousin, sisters of friends, childhood neighbour, several of them in my school year etc. I just can't see the appeal at all.

Apparently only 9 girls were registered in England and Wales with the name Cerys is 2019 (mine amongst them) there were more named Carys (one living down the road from me)

I think it's is seeing a resurgence in popularity but it's not up to the Olivia / Lily / Grace levels

I like Orla but also like Bethan for a Welsh option.

We are so torn between Orla Grace, Orla Haf or Grace Haf.

Orla seems to be a marmite name. Grace feminine timeless and elegant, but other than the Haf is very reflective of culture

Would you consider Grainne? Irish for Grace and matching with Maeve as being the name of an Irish historical figure- Grainne Mhaol.

For Irish names, I like Grainne and also Blathnaid. The Welsh names Seren, Mabli and Ffion are all very pretty.

I know it's Irish rather than Welsh but what about Neave to go with Maeve?

I really liked orla for my DD, lovely name - so I thought, but DH vetoed it, said too close to Oral. I couldn’t shake that association after he said that. I’m not sure I should have mentioned this to you, but since you’re still deciding it might be worth mentioning. That said, definitely orla above grace (what if they child really isn’t very graceful…). Plus DH vetoed lots of names for ridiculous reasons, ironing out most of my favs.
As for other possibles, what about Gwyn? This goes well as per pp.
