Yes sorry

JustJeans · 27/07/2022 09:12

Yeah, they do sorry.

WimpoleHat · 27/07/2022 09:13

Yes, they do, unfortunately. And saying “Elodie and Ottolie” is a bit of a mouthful.

Miriam101 · 27/07/2022 09:17

They do, but then again, who cares, if you like them? They're both lovely names. When you have a third you can call her Romilly ;-)

LT2 · 27/07/2022 09:19

I don't think they are too similar to use as sibling names. Why does it matter so much to people anyway? As long as you are happy with them I don't think it's a big deal if they rhyme or sound similar.

KosherDill · 27/07/2022 09:24

Yes

SummaLuvin · 27/07/2022 09:30

If there are truly no other names that you (and partner if involved) love then it's not too close to use, but ideally I would find something more different.

FlatBottomedGirl · 27/07/2022 09:31

They sound very similar to me. Both pretty names though.

Ontomatopea · 27/07/2022 09:31

If its what you have your heart set on then go for it. Stop telling your family your name choices. But yes way too similar.

RuthW · 27/07/2022 12:23

Yes they do

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 27/07/2022 12:24

way too similar.

Honaloulou · 27/07/2022 12:24

Yep, too close.

Ottoline instead?

Enko · 27/07/2022 12:47

I dont think they are too close actually. I'd go for it. Both lovely names

bloominglovelyorange · 27/07/2022 14:25

I think they work well together
i love the name Ottilie

midsomermurderess · 27/07/2022 14:32

With the German pronunciation of Ottilie (sort of Oteeliuh) perhaps not, but good luck with getting people to use that.

tangofandango1 · 28/07/2022 15:23

thanks everyone. i have no idea what to do there’s no other names i love and agree on with my partner

What about Matilda and use “Tillie” as a nn?

Or:
Otteline
Odette
Ophelia
