If same gender, of course!

Me and my sister have the same initial. Also look similar so we could ‘prove’ we were under/over 16/18 as needed - worked well for us!

AlwaysColdHands · 24/07/2022 21:20

No more than any other siblings I reckon

it works brilliantly for writing initials on school uniform/ stuff you can hand down 😄

ChickinMarango · 24/07/2022 21:24

So our girls names are 4 letters long, 2 letters (in the same place) are the same. I chose the first name and partner chose the second whilst I was pregnant and a bit delusional 😜

Its not as bad as I thought and we’re nearly 8 months in to having both in our lives and everyone is getting on ok with names.

Primatrying · 24/07/2022 21:38

Yes. But we confuse them with the dogs too!

Numbersarefun · 24/07/2022 21:40

2 of mine have the same initials for 1st name and 2nd name (not good planning on our part!), but they are in their 20s now and it’s never been a problem.

DS and I had the same initial. I always used my middle initial so that my mail could be easily distinguished. Otherwise she would insist on opening it.

sanityisamyth · 24/07/2022 21:42

My mother did it on purpose so she could pay my wages into her bank account when I was old enough.

I have the same first initial as DD. The only issue we've had is with the post.

Hotenoughtoburnasausage · 24/07/2022 22:06

I have the same initial as 1 dd and 1 ds. No issues.
Dc usually get called one of the ddog's name anyway!

Thanks everyone! 😀

Apart from the gymnastics of the tongue when trying to call the one I actually want to come downstairs, no issues.

Cindie943811A · 26/07/2022 08:04

There were 3 of us with the same initial and it was never a problem.
Nowadays most mail is electronic so even less cause for any confusion.

Snoopsnoggysnog · 26/07/2022 08:14

Not an issue here but I have a friend who has 2 daughters with almost the same name. Five letters, the first, second and last are the same. I just can’t understand it.
