Love the name Emilia Primrose

Just curious what nicknames could be used that are a little different apart from Millie & Emmie?

Thank you!

Both Millie and Emmie are lovely.

My friends have given their small Emilia the pet name of leelee.

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 23/07/2022 16:15

Emmy is nice though. Not so keen on Millie.

Justlovedogs · 23/07/2022 16:15

Mia
Lia
Em
?

Justlovedogs · 23/07/2022 16:16

Lovely name for a little one, OP 😊

Realistically the only shortenings of Emilia will be Emmy/Mimi/Millie. I don’t really get the trend of choosing a name for your child then bending over backwards to find a totally different name you can somehow say is a nickname for the name you like. What else could you possibly call an Emilia? And what’s wrong with plain old Emilia? It’s a beautiful name.

swanfake · 23/07/2022 16:19

I know an Emilia known as Mellie

wwwaterbottledotcom · 23/07/2022 16:20

Not Millie for Emilia I feel that's more of nn for Emily.

How about Amy, Mia, Lia, Aimee?

Aimee? Surely that’s a different name. You’d be as well just calling your child Aimee. I’d think it was way odd if I met a child who I was told was named Aimee and later found out their actual name was Emilia.

Squashedraddish · 23/07/2022 16:21

Mimi
Lia
Em
although I love Emmy as a nickname

Bollindger · 23/07/2022 16:22

EMs was a girl at school long ago.

We have an Emily Rose

We call her Millie at home (or Emmy Rose smelly toes)

She hates being called Emmie or Em and will always introduce herself as Emily.

(Sorry not much help)

wingingit33 · 25/07/2022 12:50

My Emilia is nn Emmy

Kghl03 · 25/07/2022 13:01

Thank you! Do you find you have to say it’s Emilia with an E alot? Suppose it depends how old she is!

Mim (used a lot in Australia and I know a couple of great grown up Mims) and Lil are the only ones I can't see already mentioned.

wingingit33 · 25/07/2022 13:22

@Kghl03 we spell it out as when we say "with an E" we get annoying spellings like Emelia. She's 8 now and use to it particularly when people know she's known as Emmy. There are 3 in her school. Still love her name as much as when we first chose it.

nlr1 · 25/07/2022 15:52

Meelie
Lia/Leah
Em/Ema

Amy, Mia and Aimee aren't nicknames due any other names much less for Emilia, how strange.

angieloumc · 25/07/2022 18:41

*for any other names, not due! Apologies.

Mila1234567 · 25/07/2022 18:49

My name is Emilia and I was called Mila (pronounced Mee-la) when I was younger. I'm not from UK though, so there might be different rules depending on country.
