Noah and Zoe

Hi all,
Quick sanity check please - we're expecting a girl shortly and are set on the name Zoe. We already have a boy called Noah. Do these names actually go together? I'm sure when I'm sleep deprived I'll call them Zoah and Noe, but do they go together generally? Thanks!

I think they do!

Cupcakegirl13 · 22/07/2022 20:17

They sound very similar due to the ‘o’ sound , so if you like matchy sounding names go for it it’s not for everyone but each to their own !

craggydragon · 22/07/2022 22:57

They'll get confused when you're calling their names but I've heard worse. What about another z name like Zara?

Kite22 · 22/07/2022 23:03

I think they are both lovely names.
I see what CupCake is saying, when you are calling from one room to another, they do sound similar, but I don't think that would be enough to put me off using them both.

Thanks for your replies! Sorry I accidentally closed this tab down and forgot completely (oops!) -

any other thoughts on these two names? I'm still undecided

I like them both separately but I think the "o" sound is a bit too the same when you say them out loud.

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 16/08/2022 16:18

It's really, really fine. I like them, both nice names.

From a sibling of three of us all of whom have names ending in -ie. This is the type of thing in real life no one cares but Mum forums make you fret about!

2pinkginsplease · 16/08/2022 16:23

I like them both.

we used similar names for our children both have the ‘o’ sound in them but didn’t realise how similar they sounded until we were shouting on the kids to come in or to come and get something and they would shout who are you shouting on!

they are now in their teens and twenties and all is fine.

Yes. Lovely.
