It's OK. First thought was a baby kangaroo, then Joey from Friends.

Cute and pretty classic.

I like. My families Irish and we have lots of Joseph’s all shortened to Joe or Joey.

I wouldn't use it as a full name for either. Joseph/Joanna/Josephine.

Joseph is lovely but I’d stick with that. Joey may become a cute nickname.

I'd go for Joseph and see what nickname they end up with. They may even like their it as it is.

First thought is definitely a girl. I don't dislike it despite the above.

Fine as nickname. I suppose it's not too awful as a name because when he outgrows cute he can just use Joe.

Def wouldn't use it on its own for a girl but again might be cute nn for Joanna. Or for a girl maybe joely/josie.
