I'm down to the last 5 names and would really appreciate anyone's opinions on my shortlist ... (middle name will probably be Autumn)

Alaia
Tessa
Talia
Orla
Lyra

Thank you in advance x

Oooo I love Lyra Autumn.

It's not often I like name choices on MN but yours are great.

Holly763 · 21/07/2022 10:47

I love Orla 😊

Holly763 · 21/07/2022 10:48

But agree with pp Lyra Autumn sounds better. I like Orla on it's own

Mumofgirls2017 · 21/07/2022 17:19

Lyra or possibly Thalia prefer that spelling

ariesalien · 22/07/2022 19:52

Tessa or Lyra!

AliceMcK · 22/07/2022 20:26

Orla definitely!

Also like Tessa and Lyra, Lyra reminds me of Lyra Belacqua.

SprinkleOfSunak · 22/07/2022 20:41

Alaia Autumn sounds and looks beautiful - romantic and dreamy.

IceCreamWithSprinkles · 22/07/2022 20:46

I like Tessa and Lyra from your list.

honestly, I think all of them feel a bit awkward in your mouth to say with Autumn, because of the a-Au sounds together. But they go well written!

YouSoundLovely · 22/07/2022 20:53

Not keen on Tessa or Lyra, or Talia with that spelling; Thalia is lovely, though.

I like Alaia (where does it come from?) and Orla.

There's also Aleida, which is similar.

purpleelephant8 · 23/07/2022 13:25

thanks for everyone's help, just to clarify, would you pronounce Thalia the same because I agree it looks nicer?

MolkosTeenageAngst · 23/07/2022 13:27

I would pronounce Thalia and Talia the same.

The only name I don’t like on your list is Alaia. I don’t like the way it looks with 3 vowels in a row and not sure how to pronounce it. I also think the alliteration of Alaia Autumn is a bit cringey.

SundayTeatime · 23/07/2022 18:30

Thalia is pronounced THA-lia in Greek. Th is always a th sound and not a T as in Thomas.

blameitonthecaffeine · 27/07/2022 21:41

I like Lyra and Talia. Quite like Tessa. Not keen on Orla or Alaia.

Oooo I love Lyra Autumn.

Tessa - it goes nicely with Autumn - soft but strong

I love Lyra but far too many Lara/Leah/Luna/Lola/Leila/Leah/Lila/Lenas about and they all blur
Orla is alright
Alaia and Talia a bit fussy and meh

Luredbyapomegranate · 27/07/2022 22:49

I have no idea why I included a quote!

Aquaticshark11 · 29/07/2022 17:32

Although Orla is my favourite from your list, it's definitely a no-go with that middle name. Orla Autumn - no.

I agree that Lyra Autumn is a really nice combo. Talia is lovely and I think it looks better spelt this way.
