Violet

I've always loved the name Violet. Now I'm pregnant with a baby girl and my partner won't let me use that name! He doesn't like it because it reminds him of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

I like the 'V' sound and I would use the nickname Lettie. Does anyone have any suggestions for other names that are similar in any way?

(Can't use Charlotte or Scarlett)

I also like the name Sylvie but he doesn't like that either. Anything similar to that?

To br honest, you can use anything as a nickname - I called my son Apple for ages and his name is Christopher

I also love Violet. But I do know a little Violet who I mentally refer to as Violent.

Violet is gorgeous. Although I think it's the vibe like rather than the actual sound. However if your DH doesn't like it its not really an option.

I'm not keen on Violet. Looks a bit like violent and is it pronounced Vi-let or Vi-o-let?

For flower names I much prefer Iris and Rose.

For V names, PPs have suggested Valerie which I really like. Verity, Vita, Vina.

Or names with V in them.... Eve, Evangeline, Everly, Ava, Maeva.
