What do you think to the name Kaia for a girl?
How would you pronounce it? I was thinking KYE-AH.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hmm. I’m not a fan, especially as people pronounce it differently - I wouldn’t want my kid to have to spell and pronounce their name all the time (but that’s just me). I would have pronounced it KYE-YAH

im also not a huge fan of the name anyway - I prefer more traditional timeless names, but again just me!

I’d say Kye-ah too.. isn’t it the name of Cindy crawford’s daughter? It’s now a name I can imagine using but if I met one I’d think it was unusual, pretty and quite exotic

ElizaSkye · 14/07/2022 19:36

*now/not

Carlichimp · 14/07/2022 19:38

I’d say it Kye (to rhyme with eye) - Ah.

if I’m honest I don’t like it. It sounds like toe girl versio is Kai/Kye which in my mind is a naughty boy name. Probably an unfair stereotype but it’s what comes to mind for me.

itssquidstella · 14/07/2022 20:04

I like it. I know a Kaiya and a Khaya, both pronounced KYE-ah, which is how I'd pronounce Kaia.

Luredbyapomegranate · 14/07/2022 20:29

Pronounce as you say.

It’s slightly low rent, I think.

Yodaisawally · 14/07/2022 20:54

Not nice.

whattodo2019 · 14/07/2022 21:01

Hideous ...

KirstenBlest · 14/07/2022 21:20

I know a Kaiya (rhymes with Hiya) born before KG became famous.
Not keen on it however it's spelt.
A bit samey - Gaia, Maia, Mya etc

Mumofgirls2017 · 14/07/2022 21:51

Really like it and would prounce how you would

WhiskyCollins · 14/07/2022 22:17

It’s nice, I would also pronounce K(eye)-A

I’m pretty sure that ‘Kaya’ pronounced the same way is Jamaican slang for marijuana but of course that fact has a sliding scale of relevance depending on the demographics of where you live!

Yep! A very unfair stereotype. I'm speaking from personal experience in respect to an truly inspirational young man with this name.

SallyWD · 16/07/2022 09:31

I don't like it. Sounds a bit like a silly made up name (although it's probably not).

No a fave.
