Iranian baby name that seems to be popular amongst other cultures right now too.
Yay or nay?
Siblings are

I knew a Keyaan, he was a sweet little boy, his brother was Keyvan.

Very nice name and goes well with siblings.

ofwarren · 11/07/2022 10:36

Sounds nice

LaLaLouella · 11/07/2022 10:41

Cute name!

A lovely name and flows nicely with sibling names!

DarkMa · 11/07/2022 19:01

What about Zafar? One of my all time fave names.

ChagSameachDoreen · 11/07/2022 19:04

Nice! I really like it.

Scirocco · 11/07/2022 19:04

Great name choice!

Vampirenotangel · 11/07/2022 22:04

I know too many old men named zafar can't imagine it on a baby. It may be due a comeback soon.
I'm glad it's liked I was worried that as his dB is named zaviyar it wouldn't go as its quite cute whereas zaviyar is a bit posher sounding..to me anyway

I love your other names, but I don’t think this one translates well, as it sounds to much like Kayden, Kai etc, these names do not have a good rep.

It is a fairly usual name in my multi cultural City.
Really doesn't sound like any of the other names you are trying to link it with.

Vampirenotangel · 12/07/2022 11:42

That's what I was I thinking thay it doesn't go very well but then again, they're their own people and don't have to match

OP posts:
Whiskeypowers · 12/07/2022 11:49

It doesn’t go with your other children’s names sounds Irish to me sorry

Vampirenotangel · 12/07/2022 12:25

It's not pronounced the same as Kian.
But yes I get that it doesn't go but does it have to?

OP posts:
captncrunch · 12/07/2022 12:28

How is it pronounced OP? Love your other children's names!

mocktail · 12/07/2022 12:31

I've never seen it before and assumed it was an alternative spelling of Kian. I like it better knowing it's a real name!

I'm guessing from your other children's names that you don't mind that a lot of people will have some difficulty in spelling and pronouncing it Smile

teatowelsneedawash · 12/07/2022 12:44

I really like your existing names but agree keyaan sounds similar to a lot of non-Iranian names that have been tarred by the chav-brush. I don't mind it but do you have any alternatives?

Marynotsocontrary · 12/07/2022 13:03

It's not pronounced the same as Kian.

How is it pronounced?

Yodaisawally · 12/07/2022 13:28

It looks like a 'unique' spelling of Kian to me but only because I had never heard / seen it before.

How is it pronounced?

mocktail · 12/07/2022 13:42

Is it pronounced like the first two syllables of Keanu? <swoon>

Irishfarmer · 12/07/2022 16:32

I did immediately pronounce is as Kian, if that isn't how it's pronounced how is it?

Vampirenotangel · 12/07/2022 17:47

Pronounced as its spelt. Key-ahn...its a double A.
And no I don't mind having to tell people how to spell they're not English names and neither is mine so I'm used to it

OP posts:
Vampirenotangel · 12/07/2022 17:48

It means crown/King by the way

HappyGoDucky · 12/07/2022 17:53

Lovely name op, however I would have initially thought Kian too.
