Edward, Peter or Joseph alternatives

We have a little boy due later this year and would love to name him after his grandad who is Edward Peter Joseph. Sadly we don’t love any of those names.

Are there any alternatives that aren’t too ‘out there’ - e.g. Pedro ?

Those would all make very good middle names - pick one as a middle name, and it will have a special meaning to you, even if the name itself isn't your favourite. Pick a favourite name for the first name. Sorted.

Otherwise, maybe Ted or Ned for Edward?

Just go for a name you like and Edward as a middle name. Using a version of a relatives middle name isn't really a nod to them imo

I would use Edward as the middle name and give him a first name you love.

I , too, would use one as a middle name if I wasn't keen on any of them.I think that if you are naming for someone then you should use their name.They are all nice names although of the three Peter might work best currently if you were to go for it as a first name.

Piers is a traditional form of Peter, I think.

I like them all, particularly Peter. I wouldn't use Pedro unless you are Spanish, and if you are you could call him Eduardo or Jose.

Just use one as a middle name, or use his surname as a middle name if it isn’t the baby’s surname.
