Thoughts on girls names

Hi would love to know your thoughts on the following list and if you had to pick one favourite what would it be? Thank you x

Sophia
Penelope / Penny
Alice
Mia
Charlotte
Grace

Sophia - It's pretty but very popular. There are loads in my local area, and loads of Sophie's too

Penelope / Penny - love Penny but not keen on Penelope. It feels very formal

Alice - pretty enough. I prefer it as a middle name. Again it's gaining in popularity in my area.

Mia - lovely. Short and sweet. I only know one

Charlotte - it's ok, a bit boring. Lottie's are everywhere but I like the NN Charley

Grace - nice enough

Mia is my favourite

They're all quite widely used at the moment apart from Penelope and Mia. All perfectly acceptable names, but likely to meet several others with the same or similar names - I don't know if that would be an issue for you? I think Mia is my favourite.

All beautiful names, I don’t think you could go wrong with any of them. In order of my preference: Mia, Charlotte, Grace, Alice, Sophia, Penelope
What do you hope your little one will be like? Maybe that can help narrow down a name that matches.

Alice. Surprises me it doesn't get used more. I don't know any little Alice's...

I'm not fond of Mia. It's a bit nothingy, not a strong name.

I don't much like the 'gr' sound in Grace.

I like the rest, especially Alice.

I love Charlotte
I really like Grace and Sophia
I like Mia
I have no strong feelings on Alice or Penelope, they're both good names.

Don't think you can go wrong with that list tbh

Penelope nn Nell - does that count? I don’t like Penny, it’s a bit wet.

Or Grace - way overused as a middle name but not so much on its own

Of the rest Charlotte is lovely but done to death
Alice is nice but overused

Sophia is lovely but done to death to the moon and back.

Mia - meh, and massively overused.

Sophia - it's been too popular for several years
Penelope / Penny - ok
Alice - classic, I love it
Mia - nothingy and overdone. Sounds like Mere
Charlotte - classic, I like it
Grace - ok

Sophia is one of my very favourite names, but very popular (for good reason, obviously, but sadly it would put me off).
I like Penelope, Charlotte and Alice - I think Charlotte best of the three.
Not keen on Grace and Mia.

Absolutely LOVE your first three

Sophia - beautiful, timeless

Penelope / Penny - strongly considered it but DH wasn’t sold, Absolutely love Penny/Pen, was a bit hesitant over the 4 syllables feeling a little too much for every day use, but it’s lovely.

Alice - my favourite from your list. Timeless and beautiful.

Charlotte - it’s a nice name but doesn’t excite me in any way

Mia - same

Grace - they only one of your list I dislike. The “ay” sound sounds harsh to me…and I’d worry she’d end up clumsy

Penelope / Penny - really like it, there’s one at my DC’s school

Alice - it’s ok but becoming quite popular now
Mia - so overused. Find it really bland

Charlotte - know loads of them, not a massive fan. Lots of Lottie’s about
Grace - massively overused as a middle name. Bit bored of it to be honest.

Love Alice and Grace.
Think I'd go with Alice. The popularity of Grace as a MN puts me off a little even chosing it as a first name.

Penelope / Penny - I like it but prefer Nelly as nn
Alice - find abit boring

None of them are really my style tbh - all perfectly inoffensive and ‘nice’, but bland and hugely overdone, especially Mia, which also feels a bit weak and nothingy.

The one exception for me is Alice. Not sure why, as on paper it’s just as popular as the others, but somehow it feels less dull and has a bit more character to it. Maybe the Alice in Wonderland connection, and the fact it’s genuinely timeless (very rare in a girl’s name). Anyway, it’s one of DD’s middle names, so would definitely be my pick!

Penelope and Alice are my favourites. Mia my least favourite, Charlotte is ok, Sophia/Sophie pretty but very common where I am and Mia and Grace a bit meh.

Sophia/Sophie has always been a favourite name of mine.

The others are all OK but not favourites.

Alice is by far my favourite but they're all ok.
I like Mia the least and I prefer Sophie to Sophia.

I love sophia, If I was to have a baby girl that would be one of my baby name options too. Such a pretty name
