They're both awful, sorry.

What kind of thing are you going for? Maybe we can suggest alternatives.

They're obviously going for an Owen or Chester kind of thing!

We have an Owen. A lovely name.

LemonSqueezy0 · 05/07/2022 20:28

100% if you call your child Chester, some joker at school will add - The molester on the end, and he will forever be known as Chester the Molester

mondler · 05/07/2022 20:30

Personally I'm not a fan of Chester but if you love it go for it.

Owen i really like.

Good luck

I once knew a woman who was called Esther the Molester by her colleagues.

Definitely Owen

Chester drawers...

Crazybabylady14 · 05/07/2022 20:32

Chester! My 7 month old is infatuated with a Chester and he's a cool little dude!

GreenClock · 05/07/2022 20:32

Owen is the better option. Lovely name!

Enko · 05/07/2022 20:34

Chester. I dislike Owen and everyone I've met have been spoilt brats

seaUrchinOne · 05/07/2022 20:38

Whatever you think is best, the responses on here is good reason why I never shared my name thoughts with anyone before the birth, there will always be a silly opinion on it.

ErrolTheDragon · 05/07/2022 20:42

Chester is a town or a dog.

Owen is a perfectly ok boys name, though if you've got a Welsh surname like Jones then maybe not a good idea as there will be thousands of them.

NoHeavenNoMore · 05/07/2022 20:55

Hate the name Chester. Even tho I used to live there and love the place!! Owen is lovely

Spohn · 05/07/2022 20:58

Meh. Owen. Do you pronounce it Chester in your accent, or Chestah?

bruce43mydog · 05/07/2022 20:58

Owen from me!

Derrymum123 · 05/07/2022 21:02

Owen by a country mile.

SirChenjins · 05/07/2022 21:14

Owen definitely. Chester is a dog, town or someone from a 1980s American film for teens

MrsIronfoundersson · 05/07/2022 21:16

Every Owen I've ever met has been utterly gorgeous.

I have not met Little Owen Jones though.

Haha. I was going to ask you a question after reading your first sentence but you answered it in your second 😉he's ruined it for me.

I've known a lot of Owens but I did live in Wales for a while. It's OK but very blah as a name.

Chester is just silly.

I don't really get a sense of what sort of names you like from those two, but have you considered:
David
Aaron
Robert
Edward
Rhys
Ellis
Thomas
Stanley
Samuel
Vincent

TreePoser · 05/07/2022 21:28

Owen

Chester has a labrador vibe.

Luredbyapomegranate · 06/07/2022 00:11

Owen is nice

Chester is pretty daft

DramaAlpaca · 06/07/2022 00:13

Owen for definite

SummerPuddings · 06/07/2022 05:48

I'm not keen on either.
How about Oscar?

Fivebeanchilli · 07/07/2022 19:44

Owen

knackeredagain · 07/07/2022 19:50

Owen. Chester makes me think of Chester Bonnington which is a sad association.

bambi1132 · 07/07/2022 19:58

Owen over Chester. Chester is a city and there's SO many dogs called Chester
