Alice and Eliza?

We have a little Alice already. DC2 is going to be a girl as well- we both love the name Eliza- but is it too close to Alice? Or do they sound quite nice together?

Hmm, I think they're too similar. Esp if they end up going by "Ellie" and "Allie" at some point (given that you can't always control what NN they end up with at school and so on).

Been googling it to see if there are any examples of people using the pair together- looks like there's a trio of sisters in the British aristocracy (the Manners sisters)- who are Lady Alice, Lady Eliza and Lady violet, so it looks like other people have used the combination too!

They are similar but not too similar. In that they sort of "go together". The only "issue" I can see is if they decide to go by Al and El, but in reality even that isn't an issue.

Both utterly beautiful names, and I think they are fab together, and not too similar at all. I'm very jealous, we couldn't have Alice as it didn't go with our surname, and we carried on a family tradition of having Elizabeth as a middle name, so Eliza wasn't an option either. But probably two of my favourite girls names of all time, great choices IMO.

I think they are very similar. The Al- and El- sounds, the middle vowel -i and -I, the -ss and -zz sounds. Having said that, I don’t dislike them together.
